Burlington police at 12:30 AM announced the arrest of the suspected shooter of three Palestinian men Saturday in Burlington as Jason J. Eaton, 48. He is scheduled to be arraigned today, at which time more information about him is likely to emerge.
Police say Eaton rents an apartment on North Prospect Street, about a block north of the Pearl Street intersection. Eaton also is listed in the White Pages as a Salisbury (Addison County) resident, and has a Linked In page. This page reveals him as a:

- Social entrepreneur and environmental entrepreneur
- Unitarian-Universalist
- Vax-skeptic parent
- supporter of Sterling College, a Craftsbury-based school appealing to environmentalists
- Author of an article titled “Greenwash: Maximus Global Parasite,” critical of Maximus, Inc. a multi-national government services corporation
- Interested in finance, sustainability, organic agriculture
- Proponent of creating a Neighborhood Stock Exchange in the city of Syracuse, NY. Neighborhood Stock Exchange. “Apple and Amazon can be worth a trillion dollars, what can our neighborhood be worth?,” Eaton writes in a 2019 proposal.
On his website, Eaton describes himself as a “răd′ĭ-kəl sĭt′ĭ-zən.” who has been “ɪn.səˈbɔːr.dən.ət since 1975” and “Casting out the money lenders since 2003.” At age 48 in November, 2023, Eaton would likely have been born in 1975. Nothing on Eaton’s social media specifically mentions either Palestine or Israel.
In 2009, Eaton floated a proposal for Middlebury Solari – a ‘buy local’ promotion of keeping Vermont purchasing power, taxes, and investment instate.
According to the White Pages, Eaton is a Salisbury resident who formerly lived in Syracuse, NY. His work history shows many positions with financial institutions, most recently as a sales associate with CUSO in Williston. He also has worked as a farmer and, during the pandemic, as a night cleaner for a New York noodle company.
His Linked-In page includes two Covid-19 vax-related posts: a copy of a religious exemption letter from a Unitarian-Universalist faith perspective, and an essay entitled “Fair minded skeptic on the SARS Cov-2 vaccine.”

Interested to see what Sarah George does with this one.
Mr. Eaton sounds like a progressive-Democrat:
1) Unitarian Universalist
2) Social & Environmental Entrepreneur
3) Sterling College affiliated
4) Sustainable, Organic Agriculture proponent
5) Anti-Capitalist: “Casting out the money lenders…”
6) A Buy-Local proponent
Tom, in Vermont it is difficult to box people into a group. I’m a buy local, sustainable Ag, cast out the money lenders, sort of fella, but my politics can be considered to the right of Attila the Hun, and am as far from progressive Dem, as a man can be.
This fella was likely triggered by the scarf wearing, and Arabic speaking, publicly ,likely packed a gun, and seeing these guys publicly flaunting their Islamic-ness, likely snapped on the spot, and came out shooting. With Biden’s open borders and folks getting fed up, expect more of these flip outs, in the future, I’m sorry to say. Folks have had enough, and you can not put them in one political group or another. They dislike the changes being forced on them, by the country’s and states leadership, and are a walking time bomb, ready to blow, at the slightest provocation…real, or in their minds. Expect more like this is my take.
My point is that no conservatives exist – and certainly not a ‘MAGA’ conservative – that are Unitarian Universalists, supporters of the far-left Sterling College, and display the kind of anti-capitalist rhetoric that Mr. Eaton has. The facts in this article point to Mr. Eaton being a man of the Left.
Tom Licata, it’s way too early (still) in my opinion to be making broad judgments. I’m pretty much a Mosaic, constitutional, conservative libertarian, formerly republican, chew on that for a while. I’m certainly not a progressive democrat, but I support small sustainable organic agriculture, while I fully support free markets and entrepreneurship, I’m increasingly disillusioned with capitalism, I’m definitely a buy local proponent, as well buy made in USA or at least NOT from oppressive regimes such as China. So what am I, I wonder?
Sounds like a Vermonter to me Jonathan.
He seems like a lefty libertarian, but going through the website etc., it doesn’t add up as a “hate” crime. X Twitter bio says “Radical citizen pa-trolling demockracy and crapitalism for oathcreepers,” which is also left implying. Doesn’t seem like any kind of racism to be found anywhere. Also claims to abide by the non-force libertarian principle on his podcast bio. Did they just have a dumb argument at Red Square or something?
Mr.Eaton appears to be just another fruitcake roaming the streets of Burlington,
apparently this so-called entrepreneur, environmentalist, and author just to name a few of his accomplishments in life, now he can add felon. he just snapped, a white man with a gun in Vermont let’s see how the Vermont AG twists this story !!
Burlington, Pandora’s box of liberal nonsense, the cart is always before the horse.
“Mr. Eaton appears to be just another fruitcake roaming the streets of Burlington…”
I think this says it all.
Now what are Progressive’s to do? He’s one of their own…. The usual “nothing to see here” part of the playbook is about to go into action. The Dystopian cult of Burlington (Mayor, city council, District attorney, Media accomplices, hate-has-no-home-here Progressives) will slowly bury this story over the next few weeks.
Be careful folks. Some people think that it may be a plot or something. Many detractors are already calling it anti muslim and so on.
Linked to my comment this morning BEFORE we really knew as much as now.

Just read this and it is as I stated, before a ramp up and see how fast the muslim angle is being pushed real hard.

One question for all. Is it my imagination, I hear nothing about a GUN, like what caliper of gun was used. Even a .22 can kill ,not very well from a drive by as reported , but it can. same with a bb GUN.
Looks like we are now getting “national” attention for a nut with a gun false flag “hate crime ” to promote islamophobia and take our guns away. you know “For our safety.”
The previous Gateway Pundit story put it this way:
“As reported earlier – Three top Palestinian college students were fatally shot in what is being characterized as a “bias attack.” The victims, who were attending woke institutions such as Harvard, Brown University, and Trinity University, were targeted while on their way to a family dinner in Vermont’s bustling city of Burlington, the New York Post reported.”
What a difference a couple of hours makes.
Does anyone have any proof of what actually happened?? Everything is assuming that this guy’s a crazy person (his social media for sure denotes that he’s crazy imo) and shot three Palestinians because it’s a hate crime.
Is there any proof that they didn’t attack him first?
Having lived downtown before, it’s much more likely 3 -20 something’s started something with an older man, then he saw Palestinians and got enraged and shot them.
In the end it doesn’t really matter. The media has gotten what they wanted out of it. This man’s life will be destroyed whether he was guilty or not, and even if he’s not found guilty, that will be swept under the rug in the media so no one will know.
Me, personally, I smell a psyop. Too early to tell right now I suppose, but something ain’t right here.
A reek of false flag permeates the air.
I’m not making any judgments until more information is released but I will be willing to bet with all the national attention this is getting we are soon to be flooded with pro Palestine protesters 🤢🤢🤮
I wonder how his manifesto reads, if he has one.
You mean the “manifesto” that will be carefully crafted by the CIA?
If we dont hear about a manifesto, then we will know how it reads…
I smell a conspiracy
The stink of a conspiracy is overwhelming. This guy has pleading not guilty and I accept that. No proof yet that he committed any crime other than being a liberal. In fact, the whole thing reeks of a fed set-up to provoke a violent group of terrorists so the FBI can arrest more gun owners who try to protect their homes and country from terrorists.
I’m just grateful they were shot with a handgun and not an AR or they’d have already filed legislation to ban them here.
There will be anti 2nd Amendment legislation introduced because of this incident regardless of the type of firearm used, just get used to it. the gun pulled it’s own trigger.
So 24/7 for 5 days on this shooting but rickets about a 14 year old who killed another 14 year old with suspected drug overtones included. Why the difference??? Yeah, we know why and why the shooter was back in school 2 days later! No wonder NOBODY IS shopping in burlington anymore.
Waskily Twump supporter …. he and his pet Roadrunner.
Seriously, thankful that death didn’t result.
This may turn up the heat on the State for allowing a known mental case to possess a firearm. Shame on the state agencies that don’t talk to each other, the family that didn’t warn the police, the UUC that may have had an idea of his potential and maybe a past employer who saw the handwriting on the wall.
As-a-side: Some of you may have heard about the man who killed one of 4 perps that broke into his house in LA. Last I saw the cops were walking the defender of his family off the premises backward and in handcuffs ….
An omen of what’s to come in VT?
Keep voting Democrat Progressive Socialists into office.
SHAZZAM,
I agree so much it hurts my heart and I keep saying again and again. This is a trap, setup, false flag, con, game and on and on.
I was one of the first on this issue, in this paper and I am seeing the plan work out as they directed it to. When are people going to stop them and their manipulation of We The People in our daily lives. This is so transparent.
