Burlington man arrested for three robberies at Jake’s ONE Market

Burlington police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with three separate robberies at Jake’s ONE Market on North Winooski Avenue.

Joshua Rheaume of Burlington was taken into custody on July 10th by the Burlington Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit and Detective Services Bureau. He faces three counts of assault and robbery for allegedly robbing the same market three times over the past two months.

The robberies occurred on May 19th at 8:23 AM, June 11th at 8:38 AM, and July 6th at 7:51 AM. All three incidents took place at Jake’s ONE Market located at 242 N Winooski Ave in Burlington.

Rheaume was brought to Chittenden Superior Courthouse where he was arraigned and ordered held without bail while awaiting a full evidence hearing. He had previously been identified as “Suspect 1” in images released by police during their investigation.

Police are still working to identify and locate a second suspect, referred to as “Suspect 2,” who they believe was involved in the robberies. Detectives are currently executing multiple search warrants, including at Rheaume’s residence.

The Burlington Police Department received assistance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms during the investigation.
