A Burlington man is facing criminal charges today in connection with the shooting of three Palestinian college students in Burlington over the Thanksgiving weekend.
Jason J. Eaton, 48, of North Prospect Street was jailed at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans on state charges of attempted second degree murder charges pending his arraignment in Vermont Superior Court, prison records show.
A press conference open to the public via Zoom will be aired at noon today. The press conference will be live streamed on Town Meeting TV.

Three Palestinian men shot in Burlington
Burlington Police has classified the case as three counts of aggravated assault, according to its news release Monday.
Special agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were conducting a canvass near the shooting at 69 North Prospect Street when they encountered Eaton, who lives in an apartment at the address about 3:38 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The ATF agents detained Eaton based on his conduct and eventually a search warrant was obtained for his apartment, police said.
The court-ordered search began shortly before 10 p.m. and netted investigators evidence that linked Eaton to the shooting, police said. It is believed that guns and other relevant evidence was seized.
Any guns seized will be matched by the ATF against shell casings and other evidence that police recovered at the scene.
A video arraignment from the prison is planned at Vermont Superior Court in Burlington for 10:30 a.m. today.
It is unknown if the U.S. Attorney’s Office will file federal charges, but this is the kind of case that the U.S. Department of Justice likes to get involved in when an arrest is made.
Burlington Police, the ATF, and others are also expected to hold a news conference later today.

In what world is a guy who shoots three Palestinians for the oath keepers, a far right group, a “leftist” in any way? Take all the time ya need with this one, big fella.

Without an acceptable narrative it is perplexing why this man would even have any opinions worth noting for the Main Screaming Media… I hesitate to mention his Unitarian Universalist affiliations. However, if a person believes in Everything a person believes in Nothing! UU “belief system” theology is vastly anti-Christian and denies Christ specifically (at least that Christ we know from the Bible). Again, we should resist the temptation to assert any link here for his actions.
Sometimes a person is just disturbed and one cannot expect to “dowse” effectively for their motives and spirit from LinkedIn etc.
As expected though the narrative is not clear so the story will either be manufactured shortly or allowed to fade to gray…
Continue to Pray for Israel and ignore the background noise, Hamas needs to be eliminated on all the Lands of Eretz Israel.

VTDigger reported at one point that Eaton was charged with second- degree murder, not attempted murder. No wonder some think the assault was “fatal.”
Notice how they don’t seem to know anything about the man they just arrested, but when the crime happened, they knew everything, his motive, etc. etc…
Will be interesting when the truth comes out, they will be scrubbing all his online presence, surely.
Sunlight is desperately needed in this state, along with independent reporting. Vt Digger couldn’t find the truth if it were sitting on their lap.
This news article is particularly well done, which is good because the subject matter is HOT. Donoghue’s careful attention to detail will make it harder for the world to misunderstand what actually happened.
I wonder if the President and Attorney General would be giving statements about this hate crime if the hate crime was perpetrated against white Christian or Jewish men?
I don’t think they’d care all that much. Hating Christians or Jews doesn’t fit the narrative they want to promote.
I pretty well can guarantee you that the shooter is mentally ill and probably doesn’t even have any history of hating Arabs or even concern with the current Israel-Hamas war. But the local and national groups that promote Palestinians and Islam will make him out to be a rabid Islamaphobe instead of just nuts.
And it doesn’t matter if they lied, because their lie helped push the narrative across the entire united states within what 4 hours of the event happening?
So, everybody thinks the first statement was true, though they didn’t even know who the shooter was so how could they know his motive.
Interesting how one event in Vermont makes it across the world. Just like when our Governor said he voted for Biden….why would that become world news? Who cares what a political person for 600k people votes for?

I am just waiting. The color commentary in the news reports is amusing. I have heard what the visitors to the state that were shot had to say. I have seen the nice pics and financial marketing/ backing from outside interests. I have seen poor pics of the assailant. Read suggestions of why. But No statement from the assailant except his plea of Not Guilty. No evidence proving a motive. But a gun and ammo that appear and probably are the weapons used. Let us see what happens. Innocent until proven guilty.

What would happen if we referred to the three men shot as Israelis? (I’m assuming they’re from Israel.) If there is no longer a Palestine anymore, why are we referring to people who live in Israel as Palestinians? If I’m missing something obvious, please help me understand.
By raising the question, I am in no way am trying to trivialize or politicize this violence, nor intending to dehumanize the victims.
So they evidently hail from the PA controlled portion of Judea/Samaria aka “West Bank”. This doesn’t make them Israelis as Israel hasn’t yet annexed those areas. On the other hand there is no entity as Palestine; that’s actually an old name for pre-Israel, coined by the Romans. So these guys are Muslim Arabs but not Israelis. And their families could have been living there for awhile or came in from Jordan, Syria or Egypt to name a few; I have no way to know that but the majority have come there from elsewhere in the Arab world.
Amazing they can nail down a suspect in hours but can’t (won’t) identify the person(s) who vandalized the Vt State House or the person who left their cocaine in the White House. Funny how that works
or the person who leaked the Roe vs Wade overturn in the SCOTUS…
Left ideology attracts disturbed people as much as any radical movement. Maybe law enforcement will finally start targeting that crowd…. Nah, not in the People’s Republic of Burlington.
Not only does it attract crazy people, it’s crazy-making. The insidious self-hating doublethink gaslighting of wokeism works exactly like borderline personality disordered mental & emotional abuse and essentially gives those subjected to it a collective case of the same. It works particularly well on white women. The stats on mental illness in that category are off the chart compared to every other demographic. But it infects the weaker willed men as well.
Appears the State has relinquished jurisdiction of this matter to the Feds. How many other shooting cases in Vermont are turned over and under the control of the Feds within a day or two? Who is actually running the State? This matter has a distinct odor all over it. Being the Feds have taken up permentant residency (FEMA/ATF/DHS), something is definately suspect other than this nationally broadcast “incident.” Did the Rainbow Bridge incident flame out too early?
This is so Sarah George wont have to be in the uncomfortable position of having to bring charges for a violent crime against a radical leftist…
Maybe the best thing that could happen is if Ms. George was put into a position where national attention was watching her ?
The news should be three men shot in Burlington, not the liberal narrative, they were
shot because they were Palestinians, is that because they were wearing a scarf and this nut case knew what that rag meant, and shot these three, there is more to this story ……….
So these three were Palestinians, so probably Muslims, and they were celebrating Thanksgiving,……… That sounds a little fishy, this is a story, but not the real story !!
