The Valley Reporter in Waitsfield is reporting that Vice President JD Vance is visiting Vermont this coming weekend to ski at Sugarbush in Warren with his family.

The Valley Reporter wrote in a Facebook post this morning “The Valley Reporter has learned that vice president JD Vance will be in the valley this weekend. Apparently he and his family are coming to stay in Warren and ski at Sugarbush. Details to follow.”

VDC reached out to the Valley Reporter and confirmed by phone that JD Vance will be in Vermont and staying in Warren this weekend.

VDC also contacted the VTGOP Chairman Paul Dame and he told us that he had not heard of this yet, but he would check with sources at the White House.

Last night in a post on the reddit forum r/vermont, user ‘johnnyredshorts’ wrote,  “I happen to know that VP Vance will be visiting Warren VT next weekend, staying at the Pitcher Inn right in the village. Skiing at Sugarbush. Don’t you think it would be fun to wave at him and say Hi?”

VDC will confirm with sources with more details to follow.

It’s the first ski vacation for the Vance family this winter. TMZ reported (and photographed) a visit to Aspen at Christmas.

It’s also not the first Vermont VEEP vacation in recent memory. Vice-President Mike Pence – the first VP for Donald Trump – liked to holiday at Lake Bomoseen during the summertime.

    • I hope a lot of childless cat ladies also visit the area and convey their heartfelt opinions on his governance.

  1. He’s in deep blue territory, surely, my hometown. It would be amazing to meet him, thank him, ski with him, talk with him….but I think it’s best to let him enjoy his family vacation. What a wonderful honor.

Maybe he’ll read the VDC and see that he has support from many in Vermont held captive by those marxists in the Golden Dome…..

Hope he has a wonderful vacation.

  2. Fantastic!! I hope he and his family enjoy their trip!! Welcome, Mr. Vice President!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Something about the reddit post smells like doxxing though…

  3. This post with all the location details of the Vance visit to Vermont need to be removed immediately for security reasons!

    • Exactly! He should have chosen Jay Peak, (in the Kingdom) instead of one of the most liberal leftist areas in Vermont! Might as well ski in NYC!

    • I appreciate this article – thanks for reporting the news, Vermont Daily Chronicle. Questions: (1)Who is tracking the total complete cost to taxpayers of this trip and other personal family trips?
      (2) What is the total complete cost of each round trip for Trump to travel and from MaraLago ?
These costs should be made available to each and every one of us.

  4. But I do hope a number of ACTUAL conservatives (sans “Paul Dame”) get the V.P.’s ear to let him know of the numerous constitutional violations this state allows to give monetary perks to “those of color” and the mentally ill who cannot discern their gender, the fact that this state has NO real intention of cooperating with ICE, the NAMES of all the “prosecutors” who refuse to prosecute criminals here, and Vermont’s CHRONIC assaults against law enforcement!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Mr. Vice President – the nicey-nice this governor assuredly tried to make with you while he was at the White House last week about how “lovely” VT is was ALL B.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s Commie RED!

This state needs the feds to come down on them BIG TIME!

  5. The new administration has VT in their sights. I hope they get to speak to the native Vermonters who have had enough of the destruction, corruption, and evil in our state, so they get the sense we want them to come down hard here and fix many issues.

  6. Well hopefully he spends a ton of money while he is here since he is wasting tons of taxpayer funds to do so. Sorry, no open arms here.

    • Interesting that you had absolutely no problem with the last Administration where Biden was on vacation over 500 Days and Kamala didn’t even serve a purpose as vice president but got a huge paycheck and plenty of vacations on taxpayer dime. Stop being a hypocrite. He was duly elected and as so he must travel with an exorbitant amount of security because frankly the left is completely unhinged and dangerous. Give the guy, his wife and children a weekend off from the vitriol.

  7. The article states the VP Pence “liked to holiday at Lake Bomoseen during the summertime.”
This is incorrect but Pence did however visit Lake Hortonia twice.

  8. The loonies are really going to make a scene. I wonder if Vance knows how insanely leftoid people are here, especially in the Valley. Decent odds of a newsworthy incident.

    • No way – the Guv OBVIOUSLY put his arm around Vance last week in an attempt to have the Trump administration lay off Vermont by undoubtably characterizing this Commie state as a “quaint” place for him & his wholesome family to spend the weekend in…..

SORRY Guv – Your residents will make the REAL VT known to D.C. as often as it takes for them to hammer your Marxist policies into oblivion. Nice move, but the TRUTH will be TOLD!

    • No way! According to AI, 1.5% of skiers nationwide are black. Sugarbush passes are $175 a day. The good and righteous people of the Mad River Valley MUST be figuring out a way to make skiing more inclusive, accessible, and diverse. I KNOW they are not skiing themselves ~ talk about white privilege. Ooh ~ such bad form. No way they would ever be that hypocritical. Right?

  9. Hey folks~ a family is coming on a ski vacation like people do every weekend and you don’t typically judge their politics. Do you question big SUV’s and second homes that might be larger a family may need? Anyone wondering about the impact of a whole-mountain recreational sport on the environment and man-made climate change? According to AI ~ about 1.5% of skiers are black. Can we talk diversity here? Race aside, who can afford a ski pass at $175 a day? ($700 a day for a family of four without food) Why aren’t people pushing to make skiing far more equitable and inclusive? Please don’t try to tell me folks are just enjoying their privilege. I know that isn’t possible. Or… wait, is it? Could folks really take their kids out of school on a Friday to chase powder and not feel just awful about themselves?? Have they not enjoyed skiing long enough? Isn’t it time to step aside and give their season pass money to others to experience this privileged pleasure? Oh my ~ Is it possible that these folks could be hypocritical?

    • I skied when I was growing up. I didn’t grow up here but my parents did. My father was in the Army and we lived in several places. I eventually moved to Vermont. We built a life here.

  10. I’m pleased to see the Vance family is visiting Vermont to ski. I hope our imported out of state leftists do not embarrass the rest of us and spoil the Vance family’s visit. However, they will probably embarrass themselves as usual.
