Bossange: Are YOU okay with the Trump dictatorship?

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

by John Bossange

I’m slowly coming to the opinion that a growing number of Americans who voted for President Trump are OK with the idea of living under a dictatorship.  Many Trump supporters are unwilling to see through all the white noise coming from their selected media sources.  They have found solace and comfort with a narrow window of information, which for many of us, is easier to understand.  Conspiracies and “alternative facts” have been skillfully planted and advanced by Trump and his followers to create an imaginary world based on lies and deceitful actions.  This has purposely distracted believers from taking more time and thought to explore a variety of news sources to gain a broader range of opinions and information.

There are also Trump supporters who know the lies and actions coming from the President during these first six months are taking the nation apart and hurting a majority of Americans.  These supporters continue to remain silent because they benefit financially from a smaller government, less regulation, and lower taxes. They know the reductions and elimination of federal and state revenues will cause great harm to most of us, but their greed to put their profit before our country drives their support of the MAGA Party agenda.

I wonder how the 77,000,000 Americans who voted for President Trump now feel about our economic future after these initial months of his presidency, watching the President follow the Heritage Foundation’s playbook governing America’s finances.  Do they understand the direct impact of America’s largest companies paying an average of only 14.1% on their profits, and the lowest corporate rate (21%) in more than eighty years?  Do supporters understand that corporations have used most of their tax savings and profits to buy back their shares, giving the stock market a boost and rewarding the wealthy and greedy who own those shares?

Do they understand Trump’s corporate tax cut has shifted more of the total tax burden onto the rest of us?  Our payroll taxes made up 7.8% of our national income while corporate taxes made up only 0.9%.  In total, taxes on working Americans were 35% of the federal tax revenue, while taxes on corporations were only 6.5%.  How does that feel now?  Do the greedy billionaires and millionaires care about the economic pain being inflicted on Americans and eventually passed onto our children?  I don’t think so.

All of these tax cuts of course have created the largest federal deficit in our nation’s history.  If we are to ever buy down the debt, more federal dollars will be needed, leaving fewer dollars for millions of hard working Americans.  It’s not just food stamps and other family support services, but our Social Security, disability benefits, and Medicare as well.  The greedy billionaires funding the Heritage Foundation and the Trump presidency are just fine with privatizing these services and handing them to their investors and hedge fund managers on Wall St.  That will be a disaster for most of us.

Dictators cut deals with rich business executives.  It’s one of the many ways they remain in power. They also take apart labor unions, undermine public education, use fear to convince us that there is a “them” out there causing our economic stress and anxiety over social issues, shut down unfavorable media sources, crack down on colleges, universities, and voices of dissent, fill the airways and alternative media platforms with more fear, lies, and deceitful actions, convince us that they can fix everything, get elected, and then take over with the blessing of the courts and the support of the military. Sound familiar?  It should.

For many Americans, it seems that keeping democracy alive and vibrant is just too much work.  From the earliest of our nation’s years, our Founding Fathers and successive Presidents understood the need to have an educated citizenry if we were to sustain this grand experiment.  That’s why public schools were established in 1870 and that’s why our country has always had multiple newspapers, journals, public debates, and now a variety of social media outlets to present a broad range of perspectives and opinions.  An engaged and literate public, able to discern fact from fiction, has always been the backbone of American democracy.

However, over time many Americans have become disengaged and complacent, and we are paying the price.  President Trump has taken advantage of that and coalesced the unwilling to learn and the greedy who know.  Having a dictator in control making promises seems to be an easier way to live.  As for the greedy, as long as their investments, position power, and businesses are in the black, they’ll put up with the white noise of “alternative facts,” lies, and distractions. For them, it’s profit before country.  As in combat, a real patriot looks out for the safety and well being of others.  For this greedy crowd, true patriotism and love of country is a foreign concept.

Many of us take time to read, listen to and understand other points of view. We are willing to learn more.  That’s why it is deeply disturbing and chilling to see a President pull the wool over the eyes of so many Americans who are stuck in their narrow road of information, and then reward the wealthiest Americans and billionaire friends, family, and donors with unfair and unjust tax advantages with profit opportunities unavailable to the rest of us. That’s not an American democracy; it’s the economic foundation for a successful Trump dictatorship.

  1. If this is “dictatorship,” I much prefer it over the reign of corruption and lawfare that we had to endure under the totalitarian Biden regime.

  2. Flip this article, and you get the Democratic playbook. This author just revealed his part in corrupting our education system. Stop living in a fantasy world….. You or anybody else will ever change reality… Never.

  3. Very interesting observations considering we have come off of four years of previous Administration being very close to completing a long range plan to turn this Country into a dictatorship by installing an oligarchy with the assistance of the Left funded news media. Plus as we have seen in last few weeks in writing we’ve had at least 8 years prior of contempt for the rule of law and Constitution of our Democratic Republic, we are not a Democracy which appears to be what the Democrats want to establish by brow beating our young voters into believing we are one. Strange Democrats scream for a direct democracy which is simple majority vote, when in the last election President Trump received the majority of the popular vote which is pure democracy, in addition to the Republic saving Electoral system. While pretending to preserve the Constitution the Democrats have done everything in their power to subvert it. The biggest lies in last decade came out of the mouths and actions of the Democrat Administrations, proof on video and in writing. Seems the left had forgotten about archival retention and outwardly deny what they said while it is shown on video. This article is a perfect example of the Left always accusing their opponents of what they are in the process of doing, a purely Marxist theory. Purely quoting tax percentages without posting the resulting revenue income stream is malpractice. We have recently, due to tariffs have had record revenue deposits. The Democrats continuing to force a revolutionary class war is very clear in this and other similar articles. Using these examples while the self proclaimed Socialist mayoral candidate in NYC living in a $4 Million apartment on Upper West side who just had a billionaire wedding in Uganda with cell phone jamming technology, private police and very lavish trimmings while telling the voters he is poor. Not to mention ‘Green’ Bernie spending almost a half million dollars on private air travel on a nationwide tout while pretending to represent Vermont, more left lies, with his only defense along with the ownership of three houses as he deserves it because he is ‘a Senator’. Typical left actions while trying to obfuscate with letters such as above.

  4. Regardless of which party is involved, sticking the head in the sand, making excuses, pointing fingers and blaming each other doesn’t prevent the political environments of Russia and North Korea from becoming the norm. It’s hard to believe that individuals think living under the conditions of those dictatorial regime is a good option.

    • 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣It’s a great option. Much better than living under the Democratic Communist Party Regime we lived under the past 4 years. Taking our Country back ❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

  5. I find it interesting that there is no longer a “middle of the road”, you’re either “leftest liberal”, or “right wing conservative”! I have to believe that most people are moderates, and will choose certain beliefs from both. If you want to talk about control and manipulation, this is how both haves have succeeded in dividing us! Where are the George Aikens and the Jim Jeffords? The ones who were always willing to come to the middle of the road for the good of the people.

    • Going back to the saying about learning from or reliving History, we may unfortunately be in 1858

  6. Interesting. Do dictatorships have 6 to 3 and 9 to 0 Supreme Court decisions that reverse corrupt judges? Corrupt Judges that you actually do find in true dictatorships. No. This all falls under elections have consequences. The 2020 cheated election had its consequences also. It’s payback time now.

  7. It’s unfortunate that we have so many acluistic people in our state. Just stating your own opinion without having actually researched the thoughts you are opining makes you a very untruthful human being by pushing propaganda in it’s ultimate form. The statements made by this writer are at the very least mere drama and lies.

    • I look at it as the “preacher” preaching to his own ignorant, brainwashed choir .

  8. Trump only has four years to fix the damage the Dems have done to this country.. not a lot of time when you look at the mountains of sh#$ this administration has to sort through to repair this mess. If he’s viewed by the liberals as a “dictator” then so be it.. He knows time is short (especially with the mid term uncertainties) so balls to the wall or we may never crawl out of the hole they put us in!

  9. Gotasay this is a very clearly presented and impassioned presentation of the delusional world constructed by the left. So, are you convinced? Did he win any converts?

    • Not Me for sure. Scary and Delusional plus dangerous if you ask me!

  10. It did not take long for the dystopian liberals to smell a hint of blood in the water – yet, the blinders remain cemented over their eyes and moral compasses broken.

Here’s a question for the Left side of USA DMZ zone – How many times did your party have Orange Man on the ropes? How many times squarely in the bullseye and poised to take him out – take him down? What happened? Nothing, nada, zilch. Did he go to jail? No. Did he keep right on running over Democrats like the Energizer Bunny? Yes. What is wrong with your party sirs and/or madams? It is one big club and 95% of you are not in it – not even close – just useful idiot serfs like the rest of the inmates in this digitized, overly medicated prison.

Before the GOP does any victory dances, there is much to be embarrassed and ashamed for on your side as well. A platform so tilted toward endless wars and corrupt shyster bull run snorting – spineless super-wealthy squid lead your brigade of marauders. They pretend to hold the ethical, moral high ground. BS – two wings affixed to the same vulture.

It’s all fake, phony falsehoods and endless psyops. Divide and conquer – nothing more, nothing less. If it wasn’t for willful ignorance and kool-aid drinking gullibility – we might actually save ourselves from ruin. Vote harder next time? Sure, that works as we clearly see since H.W. Bush – just flipping the script to usher in complete destruction – making as much bank as possible before the black swan song and flights to parts unknown.

  11. The mental process required to write this surreal dribble, has two speeds at best, in all due respect…Slow and dead stop.

    • I made it through the first paragraph. The author allegedly taught children as an educator but probably more as an indoctrinator. Which leads to the fact that our constitution, history and government are omitted from our schools to process more useful idiots.

It’s no secret anymore that children leaving high schools have very little knowledge of our government and the history being taught has been doctored to eliminate the greatness of America and to turn students into left wing activists. Vermont schools are failing and maybe it’s because of people like this author who operates from an agenda instead of a teacher. Just as the VEA and their well paid actors.

How many Vermonters long for the Biden presidency or the political corruption of the last 15 years currently documented under Obama and his flying monkeys? The cages for those monkeys have been waiting and their time has arrived. Everyone who voted for those people will have the blame they deserve. And here comes this guy blinded by his media driven TDS and an amazing ability to gaslight us with his propaganda and delusional thoughts. Unfortunately, Vermont is full of these people and the results prove it.

  12. As one of the 77 million who voted for President Trump, he’s doing exactly what we elected, hired, and authorized him to do: clean up the disgusting corrupt mess left behind by his predecessors which had placed our republic on the brink of destruction.

John Bossange is a case study in TDS, which ought to be added to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.

  13. Having lived through two terms of Obama, who had media critics fired from their jobs, who planted the seeds of racism again in america, who killed 2 American citizens by drone, I always thought of him as a true Dictator.

  14. It is a well-known aphorism—and I don’t remember who the original speaker is—that a society can be judged or evaluated by how it treats its most vulnerable: its children.

John Bossange, and all who are infected with TDS, must constantly find fault with Donald Trump, and frankly, the fact that he does not fit their mold of the malleable politician who can be bought and controlled has driven them absolutely insane.

However, no one ever claimed Trump is perfect or flawless, or infallible, or any other such nonsense. Flawed, broken, damaged, sinful human beings are all God has to work with.

That said, He has chosen to raise up, work with, and work through those who don’t fit the mold, and in this time in our nation’s history, the imperfect Donald Trump.

But the trajectory upon which our republic is now heading, is and never was about Donald Trump. It is about we the people and honoring the electoral process and the authority of the office of the President of the United States which our founders—by the wisdom and extraordinary grace and providence of God—put in place for the purpose of the leadership, divine blessings, and success of our constitutional republic.

John Bossange, and all who are infected with TDS, say what you will and cast whatever aspersions you wish upon Donald Trump. However, let the record show that the bottom line is that he is doing the job the majority of Americans elected him to do, perhaps the foremost of which is speaking up for, standing up for, and defending and protecting the most vulnerable among us.

Attack Trump’s personality or character all you like, but near and dear to the heart of Jesus is finding the lost, and saving, honoring, enhancing, and deeply valuing the lives of children. Unfortunately, President Trump’s predecessors did the exact opposite in their demonic frenzy to expose children to the most horrific and unspeakable suffering, abuse, and death through abortion, allowing millions of illegals across our borders, sex and slave trafficking, and subjecting them to every manner of mental, emotional, psychological, physical, and spiritual destruction imaginable through the satanic deceptions of gender mutilation, DQSH, and the sexual perversions propagated by Planned Parenthood. All designed to divide and destroy our children, our families, the next generation, our communities, and our nation.

Thank God our new presidential administration is proactively and diligently working to reverse this course of destruction.

Criticize, complain, find fault, and endlessly parrot tired, debunked, and disproven false narratives to discredit our president all you like. However, if you are supporting policies which hurt children, you’re on the wrong side of history, and you have zero moral high ground upon which you can stand.

  15. Please keep in mind, this is but the tip of a massive iceberg. It doesn’t include the myriad ‘deep state’, NGO, non-profits like Efficiency Vermont, but one of Vermont’s money-hungry behemoths.

Efficiency Vermont, for example, is managed for the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) by Vermont Energy Investment Corp., (VEIC), a Burlington-based nonprofit, appointed by the state to run Efficiency Vermont since 2000. VEIC has approximately $123 Million annual revenues, 90% of which funded by the PUC, with approximately $85 Million going to salaries, wages and related expenses alone.

VEIC’s CEO is paid $315,599 a year plus $14,670 in related expenses.
VEIC’s Managing Director is paid $228,997 a year plus $2,254 in related expenses.
A second Managing Director is paid $210,434 a year plus $9,454.
VEIC’s Chief Growth And Impact Officer is paid $206,795 annually, plus $2,035.
Its Chief People Officer is paid $206,497 annually, plus $6,740.

In fact, VEIC’s top ten executives are paid, on average, more than $200,000 year. And this is just one of Vermont’s NGO non-profit money launderers.

  16. As a long-standing, right-of-center, Republican who has voted against Trump in each of the six opportunities I have had, I must say that I am in general agreement with John Bossange.

As a conservative, I believe in the rule of law… all the law, constitution, statute and administrative regulations.

Despite what the President seems to think, an executive order does not supersede a statute or the constitution.

Mr Trump has definitely “shaken up” Washington. I see a definite trend toward an arbitrary and authoritarian regime.

If unchecked, there is great potential for this administration to end American democracy.

I hope and pray that I am wrong. I spent time in an autocratic country earlier in my life. I have no desire to experience that again.

    • Mr. Gummere either knows little of what he mentions in his comment, or he is trying to mislead VDC readers. Not very ‘conservative’ of him.

While lower courts and rogue judges are doing everything they can to circumvent Trump’s executive orders, the SCOTUS, our final legal arbiter, “…has not directly struck down any of President Donald Trump’s executive orders from his second term (beginning January 20, 2025) as of the latest available information.”

On the other hand, the SCOTUS, “while not directly striking down any of President Joe Biden’s executive orders in their entirety, has issued rulings that effectively blocked or limited the implementation of certain policies stemming from Biden’s executive actions or related agency regulations, often on the grounds of exceeding executive authority or violating statutory limits.”

Mr. Gummere and Mr. Bossange are, IMHO, suffering from a case of psychological projection. So much for their interpretation of the rule of law. Never mind if we ever learn who was actually signing President Biden’s executive orders.

  17. This is so ironic…. “Many of us take time to read, listen to and understand other points of view. We are willing to learn more. ” So this guy has read about Russiagate, the conspiracy to discredit Hunter’s laptop as Russian intel, Biden calling conservatives domestic terrorists, and the deliberate destruction of our borders to garner Dem votes? I’ve never seen such dictatorial abuses as under Biden — makes Trump look like our rescuer: which he was and is.

Back at you, Mr. Bossange — time for you to assess the Biden dictatorship!

It is such a comfort that you are no longer polluting our public school system, though I’m sure you did harm while there….

  18. I recommend that All left wing liberal lunatics and those with Trump Derangement Syndrome, Exit Stage left , report to your nearest teleportation terminal and Program it for transport to an Alternate Reality where Kamala is your President.

It’s not like we don’t enjoy laughing at y’all 😁 oh we do , we do .
It’s more because we love you and want you to Find your Joy .
We will be un burdened by what has been.
    Toodaloo .

  19. If President Trump were truly a dictator, John Bossange would be trying to smuggle this piece out of a gulag.

  20. This tirade is outrageous malarkey by someone simply trying to sell a failed ideology that ran our country like a 3rd world entity.

I will take the TDS every day over the lies, crookedness, incompetence and the list goes on like we have seen in the last two left wing administrations under Biden and Obama!!
