Man killed in ATV crash

A 38-year-old man from Corinth was killed Sunday evening in an ATV rollover crash on Turkey Hill Road, according to the Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene at about 5:42 p.m. near the intersection of Turkey Hill Road and Goose Green Road. Police identified the victim as Lorin Burt, 38, of Corinth.

Preliminary investigation indicates Burt was traveling southwest on Turkey Hill Road when he made an abrupt turn on a wet gravel surface, causing the ATV — a 2026 Polaris Sportsman — to overturn. Burt was ejected from the vehicle.

Emergency crews attempted lifesaving measures, but Burt was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. The crash remains under investigation.

Two men are facing charges following a reported domestic assault Saturday evening on Hoadley Lane.

Police say Dalton Moore also damaged two vehicles and violated court-ordered conditions of release. Both men were processed and later released with conditions. They are scheduled to appear in Orleans Criminal Court on April 6.

Officers executed search warrants at 16 Averill Street and 6 Hooker Avenue, described as suspected “trap houses,” with assistance from the Vermont Department of Corrections.

Police reported seizing approximately 13.5 grams of crack cocaine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, assorted pills, and $1,337 in cash. An additional traffic stop tied to the investigation resulted in the seizure of $6,500.

  • Nelson Morales
  • Hillary Hart
  • Derek Tucker
  • Lawrence Griffin

  1. More trash (the human and street drug kind) coming up on the trash highway, I-91 from Hartford.

  2. Lenient conditional release expecting them to show in court. YUP. The legal system still hasn’t discovered the criminal mentality. I wouldn’t show up in court only to be behind bars. Many places in the real world to hide. Would cost mega to search for the criminal. But many would be found, they aren’t that smart to be invisible.

  3. Now we can watch as they all post bail and the downcountry middleman (Leatherhead, wood… whatever) sent by the gangs of our southern “neighbors” likely disappears…
He will have already been replaced and a new “house” set up by Memorial Day. Perhaps we should add victims of opioid/fentanyl dead as “war crimes” and add them to our ceremonies that day?
ARE WE NOT AT WAR WITH CHINA FOLKS!? DUH!
Cannon fodder of the bio-weapons from the CCP were 70-100,000 under Sleepy Joe Biden now rapidly dropping; but is this not a war crime?
    Bernie? Peter? Becca?
