Rutland Town suspect arrested for lewd conduct

On June 7, a disturbing incident unfolded at the Cortina Inn in Rutland Town. Around 3:23 PM, two teachers from Rutland Town School, who were in a school van waiting to drop off three students to their mother, witnessed a shocking act. Michael Tripp, a 52-year-old resident of Rutland Town, allegedly stood near a garbage can in front of the inn, lifted his t-shirt, and exposed himself while engaging in lewd conduct in full view of the teachers and children.
The incident was promptly reported to the Department for Children and Families’ emergency line and subsequently to the Rutland Town Police Department. With the help of video footage and the teachers’ accounts, Tripp was identified as the perpetrator. On August 6, authorities confronted him in his room at the Cortina Inn. Despite his denial of the allegations, Tripp was arrested and taken to the Rutland City Police Department. He was processed and released with a citation, pending a court appearance at a later date.
Police investigate assault at closed Shelburne restaurant

On the afternoon of August 17, the Shelburne Police Department responded to a reported assault at the Dutchmill Restaurant on Shelburne Road. Although the establishment was closed at the time, officers discovered an injured man in the parking lot. The victim, unable to identify his attacker, was aided by a witness who described seeing a man in a brown shirt and tan shorts nearby.
The injured individual was taken to the University of Vermont Medical Center by Shelburne Rescue, with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Surveillance footage from outside the restaurant captured a vehicle entering the parking lot around the time of the incident. Authorities are now working to identify the driver, who may hold crucial information about the assault.
As the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, the police have indicated that further details will be disclosed as they become available.

In the very near future, or is happening now, one of the most dangerous jobs is being a clerk at a convenience store, Hamburger server, mostly any store type. The summation is that being in a place serving the public can be life threatening. Is it worth it? With the criminals discovering Vermont is a law lenient state, they are the new population—and they don’t pay taxes. But if a person uses a gun to protect themselves, they are the ones facing jail time.
I’m sick of simply having to wait for the store clerk from an understaffed establishment to unlock the plexiglass to buy underwear or laundry detergent. How much of this junkie bullbleep are we willing to put up with before we change our voting habits?
The Dutch Mill Restaurant – a super quaint blast-from-the-past breakfast/lunch joint that brings one straight back to the Vermont of the 1950’s………and tragically with the Vermont we now witness of the 2020’s, the worlds collided with this sad incident as reported by Shelburne Police.
The place where it happened….
The town where it happened….
and the fact that it happened……are disordered.
Thanks to Harbor Place and a few other motel flophouses, there is a 1-2 mile radius around that part of Shelburne that is a chronic crime zone, and not just “victimless” property crimes. We can all thank the wealth-guilt-ridden citizens of Shelburne who do NOT live in that part of town for their sensitivity and kindness in making that part of Shelburne Road an extension of Burlington.
I and many others are sick and tired of the police putting themselves in danger to make an arrest, then the court systems sends criminal back out on the streets, the next day,to continue their crime spree
If Mr. Tripp was dressed as a woman, wearing falsies, a g-string, clown makeup, and reading a book about transitioning, he’d be awarded with citizen of the year award, given a schedule and stipends to appear at local elementatry schools and libraries throughout the school year. Don’t understand how members of the NEA could be shocked or dismayed at the display – they support, instigate, and defend lewd and lacivious behavior within their workplaces every day.
Gee, it only took 2 months to bust Mr. Tripp!
