The Milton school board March 14 voted that only the flags of the United States and the State of Vermont may fly from the school district flagpoles.
The vote follows the lengthy controversy over flying the Black Lives Matter flag, a practice begun following the murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis in 2020.

The school policy – adopted by the newly constituted board following Town Meeting – reads:
“All flagpoles on District property are under the control and management of the Board. It is impermissible to fly any flag without the approval of the Board. The only flags displayed shall be the United States of America and State of Vermont flags. These flags shall be maintained in accordance with all appropriate Federal and State laws as well as any proclamations made by the President of the United States or the Governor of Vermont.”
The policy will go to a final vote by the school board in April. One of the newly-elected board members, Allison Duquette, is a well-known local advocate for more traditional, pre-DEI education in local schools.
AG Clark announces re-election bid – Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark announced Monday she will seek re-election.
“I am incredibly excited to announce that I’m running for re-election as Vermont’s Attorney General! In just over a year, we’ve made great strides in addressing domestic violence, reproductive rights, environmental justice, and consumer protection,” Clark said.
Dartmouth receives largest-ever scholarship bequest – A sizeable gift to Dartmouth College and its graduate business school will significantly impact middle income families who attend the schools.
A late Dartmouth graduate and his late wife left more than $150 million dedicated entirely to scholarships at the schools.
“The gift will enable Dartmouth to nearly double its current income threshold for a ‘zero parent contribution’ for undergraduates, from those with an annual income of $65,000 with typical assets to $125,000—the most generous threshold in the nation.” – Journal-Opinion

About time, the only flags that should be allowed are as stated. No blm no rainbow no Palestinian.
Congratulations Milton and Alison! A battle hard won.
The flag from should have never been up in the first place, but good to see sanity finally prevailing in that district. Now all other BLM flags in Vermont must come down as well.
We tried 4 years ago in Eessex Junction. Around 80-90 Tax Payers were there. We had a black veteran that spoke in favor of taking it down and several other speakers for the same. All they did was listen to their indoctrinated high school kids. Very frustrating.
Yes, Charity. You have made great strides in “reproductive rights,” like trying to outlaw pregnancy resource centers and criminalizing physicians and pharmacists who would prescribe the abortion pill reversal protocol to moms who’ve decided not to kill their preborn babies. Wonderful progress.
I’m not voting for her.
Out of the gate she sounds like a disaster!
The only flag that should be in public schools or for that matter any school in the USA, should only be flying the American Flag !!
If you think this country sucks, try another, there’s plenty out there and apparently, we now have millions that will take your place, your job, your house…………………………
If you want to fly a BLM, Rainbow, or any other flag, fly it at your house, to show people what clown lives there ……………….you’ll get the attention you’re looking for.
Geez calm down grandpa
Be nice if Mansfield High School would take theirs down, we all know where the money went!
God bless you Allison!
only in vermont could we have an attorney general named calamity clark//// just joking/// do not want to hurt any ones feelings////
I wonder if Charity Clark’s reproductive rights is offset by the number of body bags stacking up in the State? How does she reconcile reproductive rights while supporting chemical sterilization and mutilation of children’s reproductive organs? The fallacy of “reproduction” while “aborting” and “sterilizing” millions every day.
The only reason the flag is coming down is due to countless lawsuits and convictions for fraud. Millions upon millions of dollars collected spent on mansions, cars, boats, high-end fashion, and vacations for the chapter leaders, friends and relatives.
