It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them. First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.
Today, while the very rich are doing phenomenally well, 60% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and we have more income and wealth inequality than ever before. Unbelievably, real, inflation-accounted-for weekly wages for the average American worker are actually lower now than they were 50 years ago.
Today, despite an explosion in technology and worker productivity, many young people will have a worse standard of living than their parents. And many of them worry that Artificial Intelligence and robotics will make a bad situation even worse.
Today, despite spending far more per capita than other countries, we remain the only wealthy nation not to guarantee health care to all as a human right and we pay, by far, the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs. We, alone among major countries, cannot even guarantee paid family and medical leave.
Today, despite strong opposition from a majority of Americans, we continue to spend billions funding the extremist Netanyahu government’s all out war against the Palestinian people which has led to the horrific humanitarian disaster of mass malnutrition and the starvation of thousands of children.
Will the big money interests and well-paid consultants who control the Democratic Party learn any real lessons from this disastrous campaign? Will they understand the pain and political alienation that tens of millions of Americans are experiencing? Do they have any ideas as to how we can take on the increasingly powerful Oligarchy which has so much economic and political power? Probably not.
In the coming weeks and months those of us concerned about grassroots democracy and economic justice need to have some very serious political discussions.

I agree also, he should have been gone after his first term in the house. puts down the Demorats yet continues to caucus with them!
For over 60 years bernie has been blovating the same story. He has been a full-time politician for over 40 of those years, lingering in congress or the senate for the past 34 years. I’m at a loss to come up with a single accomplishment during those 34 years, except to elevate his personal standard of living- and those close to him.
The talking points in this, his press release- he’s been working on for 34 years without any substantive change? Really? And Voters returned him to DC for a final term? How absurd.

Sadly, and unfortunately, he has managed to bring too many of his Progressive followers into the State. I am surrounded by them in my once wonderful little town. It is not good.
Keep running your mouth Boinie, and even the Democrats will not want to play with you Pretty soon you’ll be like Cleavon Little’s family in “Lazing Saddles” trying to defend themselves from the army of Indians by being a wagon circle of one. Maybe some genius like Elon Musk can figure out how to generate power from the perpetual motion opf Boinie’s constant stream of effluent. If that can be achieved, at least his life will not have been in vain.
The Vermont three stooges will be cleaning the bathrooms at the white house to give them something to do for the next two years.
Bernie, the Democrat party did not abandon the working people. The working people figured out the Democrat/Progressive/Communists were still craping on their heads and telling them it was a mud slide. In a way it was great that Joe Biden got in in 2020 because they finally came out of the woodwork and showed the real Americans their evil agenda and it gave Trump four years to organize against them with a loyal team. Took over the RNC, kicked out the RINOS and got the working people to leave the Democrat party and join Trump a guy who built and created things then organized and built the Republican to be the party of the working middle class. They left to Make America Great Again.
TLDR: blah blah blah. WHEN will the west side of this state wise up and vote him out???

It continues to astound me no end when people—especially Bernie—condemn Israel’s leader for doing what Israel must do to eliminate the evil forces that perpetrated the demonic attack against innocent Israeli citizens on October 7th. What in the world does he expect Israel to do? You can’t reason, bargain, and negotiate with that level of wickedness.
Gracious!!!! Just look at what he’s saying. Apparently there is still a constituency among our neighbors that buys this stuff.
