Evangelist Tommie Zito, a leading figure in The American Awakening movement, recently concluded a powerful tour through Vermont and New Hampshire. This tour peaked with a significant gathering at Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly in Waterbury Center, Vermont. This event, hosted by local pastors and Christian leaders, aimed to reignite a passion for spreading the gospel across these regions.

Background and Impact

For over two decades, The American Awakening has organized more than 14,000 revival services across the United States and beyond, profoundly impacting spiritual lives. These events have led over 5 million individuals to embrace Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. The movement is dedicated to experiencing God’s presence and power, which they believe is essential for transforming lives and witnessing the miraculous.

Current Initiatives

In collaboration with Agape Christian Fellowship in Brattleboro, led by Pastors Michael Gantt and his son Bryan Gantt, Zito is working to foster a regional awakening known as “Vermont Awakening.” This initiative seeks to energize local churches, culminating in “The Great American Campmeeting.” This event is scheduled from June 30 to July 6, 2024, at the historic White River Christian Camp, a site that has been a beacon of gospel proclamation for over 135 years.

Vision and Outreach

The tour’s strategy involves uniting the Body of Christ across Vermont and Western New Hampshire under a 20-year commitment to raise and equip evangelists. This initiative aims to awaken souls to the reality of salvation and freedom through Jesus Christ and to instill a sustainable, vibrant evangelical spirit that permeates communities and cultures. Zito’s heartfelt messages, especially during his address to pastors and Christian leaders, highlighted the urgency and necessity of this revival. He invited believers to engage deeply with their faith and actively extend it outward.

Engaging the Community

During his tour, Zito emphasized the need for a collective effort in revival work, encouraging collaboration among churches. He discussed how historical fervor once defined these regions and how, through collective efforts, this can be reignited, promising a new era of spiritual renewal. His call to action was about attending revival meetings and active, ongoing participation in the transformative work of the gospel.

Conclusion

Under Tommie Zito’s leadership, The American Awakening is more than a series of revival meetings; it represents a call to fundamental Christian duties—evangelizing, transforming communities, and living out the gospel boldly. As Zito toured Vermont and New Hampshire, his efforts aimed to rekindle the historical fervor that once defined these regions. All are encouraged to participate in “The Great American Campmeeting” to witness and contribute to a widespread embrace of salvation.

  1. We can choose to follow a spirit of Deception, Division and Destruction, (doesn’t this sound like our current environment?) but God has a better plan for his people, one where the results bring about Peace, Love and Joy.

When we humble ourselves and realize we don’t have the answer to everything, we can start to learn, may the Holy Spirit move about our state, move through these leaders and kindly the fires, the healing and fruit of Christ’s 1st Century church, I ask in Jesus’ name, Lord of Lord, King of Kings.
