The public first Turning Point USA event in Barre has been postponed
The specific date, and the list of guests, is still up in the air and may need to be postponed from the initially announced 5-7 PM, Friday January 9 date/time.
The event is being organized by Seth Fewer, a freshman at Spaulding High School, who has been working to establish a Turning Point USA presence in the Barre area. Monday afternoon Fewer told VDC: “Looks like we have to cancel it. Looking to do it February 21, or 22, or 23. Nothing official yet.”
An effort to start an official Turning Point USA chapter at Spaulding High School was unsuccessful after none of the eight teachers approached agreed to serve as a faculty sponsor, a requirement for school-based clubs.
Despite that setback, Fewer said the organizing effort has continued outside the school setting. Instead of a school club, the group has formed what it calls a Turning Point USA “activism hub,” which operates independently of Spaulding High School.
“We switched over to what is called an ‘activism hub’ because we asked eight teachers who all said no,” Fewer said. “The activism hub is the same thing — it’s just not for school.”
The event is open to the public, but organizers are asking attendees to rsvp in advance. All questions may be directed to tpusavt@gmail.com. VDC will announce further details as they become available.

Speakers include Fewer, co-organizer and fellow Spaulding freshman Javion Kastner, Vermont Chair Paul Dame, and Renee McEvilly, the Upstate Field Representative of Club America, affiliated with TPUSA. Others – including Barre native Gov. Ph8l Scott – have been invited.
In a message inviting community members to attend, Fewer said the Jan. 9 event will feature several speakers, free food, photo opportunities and the presentation of an award. The event is scheduled to run from 5 to 7 p.m.
Turning Point USA is a national conservative youth organization that focuses on political activism and outreach, particularly among high school and college students.

The Charlie Kirk drama is still in my mind and waiting for the trial of the shooter that used a 3006 rifle. The media will never touch this story again.
No suprise 100% of vermont teachers asked to sponser a Christian conservative student group said no.
Those teachers should start a chapter of Teachers Who Can’t Teach. Whereas the students interested in TPUSA will easily eclipse them in life someday.
……..asked eight teachers who all said “no”……. who do these Commies think they are?? Oh yeah, Communists.
“No” on WHAT basis? This is blatant bias & discrimination! This is violation of Constitutional rights of Freedom of Religion & Freedom of Assembly!!!
WHY are these teachers supposedly acting in loc parentis not being disciplined?? Oh yeah, Communism.
I hope & trust these student’s families will locate & contact a legal organization which takes on cases involving civil rights of students to bring action, attention, and remedy to these youngsters and others like them.
Apparently the eight supposed teachers these courageous & tenacious young people spoke to were too busy hiding the files of severely emotionally troubled students who don’t understand the permanency of their birth sex and those “teachers” were instead busy as bees in attaining them dangerous drugs & encouraging amputations in order to “help” them.
Yet a “Turning Point” club that espouses love of God, understanding of Biblical truths, and patriotism is off limits!!!!!!!
Vermont is a very sick place wherein evil has overtaken Godliness in certain environments where the most damage can be wrought!
——-GET BACK TO CHURCH, VERMONT———
Good post as usual Kathleen. Are all of these teachers involved communists? Unfortunately in vermont it’s likely, however not certain. Truth is, even if they did support the student’s right to form a TPUSA chapter locally they would fear the likely career ramifications for doing so, brought on by the boots of the institution of public education on the necks of local school staff. Namely the AFT, the NEA, the VPA, the VSU, and the VSBA. My time on a local school board taught me these entities don’t give a darn about the wefare of the students whose real education should be their priority. Their true focus is the perpetuation of power and wealth for the institution of public education. In other words, they seek to be served rather than to serve. God Bless.
They should all be investigated. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.
“Teachers Oppose Hate Speech Organization”. There, I fixed it.
May God protect and nurture the children of the light and truth of the Lord Jesus Christ. I declare 2026 the year of our Lord. Amen
God bless these young people for standing up to be counted. You young students may be able to bring Barre back to a community to be proud of like it once was. GOOD LUCK BARRE
