‘Bank your vote,’ Dame urges Town Meeting voters

Vermont Republican Party Chairman Paul Dame is urging Vermont Republicans to “Bank Your Vote” in the Tuesday, March 5 Town Meeting Day & Republican Presidential Primary by voting early in person at their town clerk or by making a plan to vote on Primary Election Day.

“Presidential primaries only come once every four years, and it’s the only chance that Republicans in Vermont get to influence the conversation at the national level,” said Dame. “Our towns and our states can thrive when commonsense, level-headed Republicans start getting more involved. When we bring our fiscally-conservative orientation to local, state, and national government it’s a win for everyone in our community.”

Moose hearings in March – the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department and the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Board will hold public hearings on deer and moose management for 2024 on March 18, 20 and 21.

The hearings will include results of Vermont’s 2023 deer and moose hunting seasons and prospects for upcoming hunting, and an opportunity for people to provide their observations and opinions.

The three in-person hearings will begin at 6:30 p.m. at these locations:

  • March 18, Hazen Union High School, 126 Hazen Union Dr, Hardwick
  • March 20, Brattleboro Union High School, 131 Fairground Rd, Brattleboro
  • March 21, Enosburg Falls High School, 65 Dickinson Ave, Enosburg Falls

Short-term rental ordinance will stay – About 100 people attended a special town meeting in Fairlee on Saturday to review the town’s short-term rental ordinance adopted last year.

After two hours of discussion, residents voted 58-34 to retain the ordinance.

The special town meeting was called by petition, which had been signed onto by 199 people. – Journal-Opinion

Utility reports scam calls – Green Mountain Power, Vermont’s largest utility, had issued a warning “about a sudden surge of scam calls:”

“Dozens of customers have reported a caller threatening immediate power shut off unless they pay up right away,” stated a news release. “This is a scam, and GMP is urging customers to be safe and hang up.”

If you have questions about your account or want to report a scam attempt to GMP, call customer service at 888-835-4672. You can also report scam calls to the Vermont Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program at 800-649-2424 or online. – Journal-Opinion

  1. Regarding the Vt. F&W moose, and deer hearings, If you think that POW and company are “only after trappers”, pay attention to what they say (and they will have plenty to say!) at these hearings. Don’t let them fool you. This micro minority is coming after all of us !

    • Exactly! Does anyone REALLY believe these groups will just go away after a decision is made on these anti trapping / coyote hunting proposals?! The next apple on the tree is bear hunting. Then comes bow hunting. Then comes muzzleloader hunting. ETC..ETC..ETC.. This needs to be stopped NOW!

  2. Banking your vote” is problematic right out of the gate.

Using the word “banking” along side voting was a deliberate move.

By associating voting with banking-which is generally viewed as secure, auditable, and with a plethora of safeguards against fraud- pushers of vote banking are relying on the word association with a secure process to subconsciously sway you into believing that vote banking is secure.

    It’s not.

There’s NOTHING secure about handing over your ballot weeks or even days early to a well oiled election corruption machine.

    Don’t fall for it.

  3. Does Paul really mean “I got serious bank riding on the vote to come out as dictated by my Master?” If anything, if you do vote, pray over the ballot, outloud, and over the counter (the machine or the hands.) Declare any altering of your vote will be met with judgement swiftly and decisively. It has come to that time that voting is spirtual warfare and it is high time to realize the real battle we are in – good v. evil.
