In an address on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday, Vermont’s Representative Becca Balint voiced her frustration with what she perceives as ongoing Republican efforts to dehumanize transgender youth and interfere with their healthcare decisions.

The speech has since garnered significant attention on X and other social media.

“I’m so sick and tired of Republicans dehumanizing trans kids, demonizing their parents, and controlling what’s happening in your doctor’s appointments,” said Balint.  “All we want is kids to be able to get the health care that their parent deems necessary to keep them alive.”

Last week, Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark joined a coalition of 19 states and the District of Columbia in filing an amicus brief in support of Michigan’s ban on conversion therapy for minors, her office announced Tuesday June 3

The legal brief, submitted this week to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, defends Michigan’s 2023 law prohibiting licensed health professionals from attempting to change a minor’s sexual orientation or gender identity.

In her speech, Balint argued that such policies marginalize a vulnerable population and undermine the autonomy of parents and medical professionals in making healthcare decisions.

“There are transgender people living in every single district here and they identify as Republican, and identified as Democratic,” she continued, emphasizing the bipartisan presence of transgender individuals. “Some of them don’t vote at all because they can’t stand their government being weaponized against them.”

The representative’s speech also touched on broader healthcare issues, questioning why they were focusing on transgender healthcare amidst other healthcare related issues in the U.S. including the price of prescription drugs. “I do not know why with all of the issues we have in healthcare right now… we are rolling back all work done on inhalers and PBMs. Healthcare systems across this country are falling apart,” she said.

Balint’s stance aligns with her previous legislative efforts, including the introduction of the Transgender Health Care Access Act, aimed at ensuring that transgender individuals have access to necessary medical care without discrimination.

Her speech has sparked criticism from conservative voices who argue against what they term as “unnecessary medical interventions” for minors.

“She is sick. My kid got screwed by Vermonts gender ideology being pushed in schools. let children be adults before making life changing decisions,” wrote one X user in reply to the video.

“You’re vile. No child is trans. The fact that you support chemically and physically mutilating children and creating a life-long pharmaceutical patient is abhorrent. What you are advocating for is NOT healthcare,” writes user @Deigratia64.

”Do you know why the UK banned puberty blockers?,” wrote user Wesley Yang.  “Do you know why the Labour Government in the UK retained the ban on puberty blockers?”

“@RepBeccaB. I am a @pittparents and @DesisterParents mom of a desisted son,” wrote Gwen Ellis, who goes on to explain the dangers of transitioning children and the history of transgender ideology. Below is a small part of it, but click here to read their whole reply.  “Our groups are collectively nonpartisan and secular. Your party is losing votes. Many Democratic parents feel politically homeless. Additionally, the healthcare industry will lose billions of dollars in the near future due to the costs of treating medically harmed children and young people…”

  1. There must be a highly competitive race to fill the sqaud position left open by Cori Bush (incidently her husband indicted on wire fraud involving COVID relief money, tsk, tsk.) Between Becca and Jasmine Crockett – which one will win the seat at the exclusive big mean girl’s table? The race baiter or the gender baiter? Becca getting lots of press and spotlight time – good or bad – doesn’t matter. Either way, Becca is being a good doggie – throw her a biscuit.

    • Balint has no interest in keeping unborn children alive though…

  2. It’s very interesting what her attentions are, be a loud profane Congressperson who desires attention. Take on any extreme issue (transgender) to promote the destruction of kids. Transgender kids and some adults didn’t elect her, liberal voters did., yet she supports the minority.

While I was researching data about extreme Congress people of the SQUAD I note that herein Ms. Casey mentions the Squad.

The way to get invited to the Squad is obviously get attention of everyone by being mouthy and in the face of normal rational people as these 4 individuals have
    The Congress Squad:
Ilhan Abdullahi Omar (,Mogadishu Somalia ) D-MN
    Rashida Tiab Muslim D-MI
    Ayanna Pressley, D-MA
    Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, ex bartender D-NY

Balint (from Germany) D-VT If invited that would mean is following suit and must desire the attention these 4 get. So she rants about supporting Transgender. She doesn’t have a clue about it. Wonder if she’ll be invited. that would mean 3 individuals from the Northeast would dominate the Squad. They all share the same mental attitude. Surprised Crockett isn’t included yet. So goes the voting records of the various districts.

  3. It’s ironic, indeed, that I tend to agree with Ms. Balint. Because some of us, Independent, Republican, or otherwise, are just as “..sick and tired of [her] dehumanizing [our] kids, demonizing their parents, and controlling what’s happening in [our] doctor’s appointments”, because “… we want … kids to be able to get the health care that their parent deems necessary to keep them alive”… too.

We’re all being marginalized by ‘the State’. Some people don’t want anyone telling them, their children, their grandchildren, or their doctor what they can or can’t do. So, why does Ms. Balint persist in having our“…government being weaponized against [us]?”

The 1st amendment protects two types of associative freedom: the right to ‘expressive association’ and the right to ‘intimate association’. The U.S. Supreme Court recognized this right in NAACP v. Alabama (1958), reasoning that individual members of the civil rights group had a right to associate together free from undue state interference.

The right to ‘intimate association’ refers to the right of individuals to maintain close familial or other private associations free from state interference.

But as long as ‘the State’ requires children to attend State schools, with curricula promoting one behavior or another, or attend Independent schools ‘approved’ by the State, be the children attending them straight, gay or trans, tyranny exists. Reading, writing, and arithmetic are one thing. Gender specific indoctrination another.

Chronic self-righteousness and confirmation bias affect all of us. We all stigmatize and discourage various forms of behavior. The question is, does a State government have the right to force us into one association or another, any more than God has that right?

IMHO, only the individual has these rights. And along with those rights comes the responsibility to be held accountable for exercising them if and when that exercise harms someone else. So, choose wisely grasshopper.

Therefore Ms. Balint: I will agree to stop telling you how to live under one condition. That you stop telling me how to live and allow me and my family to associate with those I choose. If you can’t do that, we’re going to have a serious disagreement.

  4. Another progressive who “wants it both ways”…She defends parents who want to trans their own kids, yet would use the law to prevent traditional parents from preventing an activist teacher or school staffer from transing their underage child. There are lesbian women who enjoy attending women-only events and weekend retreats etc and who are opposed and wary when a “trans-woman” who is a biological, intact male shows up to hang out with them. Would Becca want to be sharing a tent with one on an overnight retreat?…or does she stand with all “trans women” in all venues intended exclusively for women? If she somehow ended up incarcerated, would she want to share a cell with an intact male who claims to identify as a women? If she played gender-segregated sports, would she want to have an intact male as an opponent? She needs to understand that not every gay woman welcomes the “T” in their alphabet soup, even if they wont publicly admit it.

  5. “All we want is kids to be able to get the health care that their parent deems necessary”.
Oh really ? How is it then that the left has gone on record as being in favor of schools/teachers helping children through the decisions involved in “transitioning” without parental knowledge ? How can a parent deem anything “necessary” if it is deemed proper for the parent to be kept in the dark ? I’ll go one step further . I question the wisdom, and mental acuity of a parent that would make a decision which their still developing child will have to live with for the rest of their life ?

  6. Homo sapiens have been around for 300,000 years give or take a few . How did we ever live, and prosper without the liberal (communist) brain trust of intellectuals like Becca Balint, and the rest of the political trust fund babies that this state seems to gravitate towards ? I’ve said it before, but here it goes again. My grandparents did not live in caves and eat dirt before they graced us with their presence, and I doubt that I would have to resort to that if they all went back to where they came from . Please leave !

  7. I’m so sick of Balint, she is such a weirdo 👎👎🥲🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

  8. Just more diaper Rash from that mouth of
Bacca Ballint, not enough toilet paper in the world 🌎 to wipe that mouth!!
We are sick of hearing you too, Ballint!! 👺🤯 🥸 🤡 👽

  9. I am so sick and tired of Becca Balint acting like an ass wipe and making fools out of Vermonters.

  10. Sadly, if Becca Balint ran again, she would win again because Vermont is loaded with Communists who vote for the same people over and over again with the same result.
Oh. that’s the definition of insanity isn’t it.

  11. “…dehumanisng trans kids”? Labeling children and then drugging them with the expressed purpose of disrupting normal human maturation? That is, indeed, dehumanising. Even many Democrats agree.
