Biden administration deems its detractors, Conservatives, Bible-readers “vulnerable to disinformation methods”.

The NY Post put up an article titled, “Biden’s AI plan to censor you revealed: Researchers say Americans can’t ‘tell fact from fiction’” on February 6th, 2024 at 6am.  It talked about the Biden Administration spending money (imagine that) for “research” on AI or artificial intelligence designed to make anti-disinformation tools.  Ostensibly for social media companies. The researchers who received this government funding include  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Madison-Wisconsin and the University of Michigan, for a program called “Trust & Authenticity in Communication Systems.” This funding, otherwise known as “Track F” was launched to identify “misinformation” and create “education and training materials” for those with “vulnerabilities to disinformation methods.” 

Guess who the folks are that are “vulnerable to disinformation methods”?  An unknown researcher at MIT expressed to the funding organization, called the NSF or National Sciences Foundation, that “broad swaths of the public cannot effectively sort truth from fiction online.”  This same researcher then names  “military veterans, older adults, military families” and those in “rural and indigenous communities” as particularly vulnerable to believing misinformation.  Another researcher “point to certain groups like those that read “the Bible or the Constitution” as subject to misinformation.” 

You can read the article for yourself, if you can get past the pop up ads and pictures of Hunter Biden with women in bathrobes.  Not sure what the purpose of those pictures was about. Here is the link:

So, I guess I could be the poster child of the misinformed and vulnerable to misinformation.  I am a military veteran, I’m in my 60’s (I guess that makes me older), I live in a rural part of the country and not only do I read the Bible, I also read the Constitution, all the Amendments, The Federalist Papers etc..  I must be incredible and I should change my name to Simple Jack.  Or maybe Jill.  

The stupendous hubris of these elite “educated” college researchers is unfathomable.  To think these people, who are supposed to be the bright ones on the planet, think that traditional Americans are vulnerable to misinformation.  Talk about being out of touch with reality.  How about you come up here and milk a cow?  Hoe a row or two of corn or dig yourself out of a mud rut in March?  Cut some cord wood and load the stove. And sit down and listen to some of these folks who are vulnerable to misinformation.  They’re the ones who make this country work.  Always have and always will.  Too bad  the article didn’t name these elite researchers.  I sure would give them an earful. Unbelievable.  

Where are the articles calling out these numbskulls at MT and U of M?  Well, there is the researcher at “the University of Washington which received funding to create a similar tool under another program — the Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace program — wrote to an NSF official that countering disinformation is “inherently political” and is ultimately “censorship.”” So there is that bright spot in this article.  And all of this was from a report to the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on the Weaponization of Government, which is chaired by Jim Jordan (R-OH).  So maybe, there is hope at the end of all this.  Because once you  bring something to light, it gets examined and reported accurately then things change.  Maybe not today or tomorrow, but usually it changes.  I hope so because I’m hanging my hat on that one.
