One of the readers and commenters of this great news outlet asked how do we “get someone out of office?”
There are many things a single individual can do. It all counts. Do not let the devil convince you that your vote or opinion doesn’t matter. Do not hide behind that weak rhetoric.
#1- sign up for the emails from the politician and reply to them honestly, without emotion or histrionics/drama, and use as many facts as you can gather. Be professional and forthright.
#2- take that email and send it to every editor of every news outlet in the state for publication as a letter to the editor. Regardless of if you read that publication or how many times you have submitted, and they deny you. Keep their responses in a folder in your email.
#3- join your local Republican Committee and/or become a Justice of the Peace. (You don’t have to agree with every single Republican or anyone, but there WILL be power if we all get behind the party and stop splitting hairs.) It is a very simple action and a good one to ensure the voting processes in your town are legal and above board. Speak to the other members. If your town Republican committee isn’t organized, let me know here or via Mr. Page and I will get you started. Easy to do.
#4- send your emails/letters to the editor to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives (Fed) and anyone else you think might be useful. Then promote it on social media. Again, be professional and forthright. Do not give them anything to attack you on.
#5- start campaigning for their opposition.
#6- live by example. Be forthright, honest, loving towards your fellow humans, and brave and stand for the truth.
I wish you all the very best and am available should you have concerns, ideas, etc… Together, we can do amazing things.
As William James famously said, “Your belief at the beginning of a doubtful undertaking is the one thing that ensures a successful outcome of any venture,” and, “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”
The author is a West Halifax resident and former candidate for the Legislature.

Loved #6 – “live by example. Be forthright, honest, loving towards your fellow humans, and brave and stand for the truth.” This must come from Trump’s autographed bible.
“I am 💯 on board with overthrowing the tables of the corrupt money-changers and sellers charging excessive prices for doves,” says Jesus, “Snakes, brood of vipers, you belong to your father, the devil!” JOHN chapter 8. WWJD? MAGA!!! MAHA!!!
I believe in what you outline herein. One overwhelming factor that makes getting a change in the elected that are decrepit is that there is a high Liberal mentality that is stuck in a rut and won’t get out of it. Many believe the democrat party is of the Kennedy era when the democrats were mainly in control and treated people and their opposition in a humanistic manner.
Not today. The rhetoric by the governing Liberals (of today) is that whatever a Republican congressperson or president they don’t like they spew unrealistic crapology to get their people on board and protest. There’s no bipartisanship in the current atmosphere. Democrat bipartisan means if a republican votes with them, all well and find. Try to see where this attitude prevails in a Democrat agrees and votes with Republicans hardly happens. They want power and keep it, regardless. People and country isn’t important, power is.
A person in Windham County (Brattleboro) said as an electorate, if elected she will vote against anything Gov Scott wants. She got voted to that power. Difficult to overcome that liberal mentality by both. The new comers to VT brought their attitudes with them. They don’t know how VT once was very prosperous. The same is in many states.
Baker: How to get the right people elected,
Well if your talking a Conservative Candidate, you’ll need someone with a backbone and willing to take some heat from the left, and I don’ t see that in Vermonts GOP !!
Deep blue Vermont ” progressives ” are like a swarm of bees, they stick together no matter what, most of it not good, but they stick together on any policy they want to promote no matter how ridiculous, you let Vermont turn Deep Blue, the question is why ??
Wake up people, they will destroy this state.
“Conservative Republican” here with enough of a backbone to take the heat, and call out the GOP. I’m quite popular, LOL. Came in last in Addison-4 House race. The hearts and minds of the voters is the problem. There are some brave, forthright ones among us. Sometimes I’ve witnessed solid Conservatives have to vote the “wrong way” to make a bill or construction amendment less bad under the supermajority: some R’s are not as soft as it might appear. Politics is a repulsive mud pit, and is not for the faint -of-heart.
*constitutional amendment, not construction amendment
Dear CHenry,
I think you forgot about our Unconstitutional and Corrupted Vermont Election System. We used to have citizen, hand-counted paper ballots and local town clerk managed voter checklists.
In 2020 Vermont Elected Officials controlled by Dems/Progs remade our election system opening it up to all areas of cheating and unknowns. Vermont Elections are now unable to be audited.
We have state controlled voter checklists with access given to NGOs, no voter ID to know who is voting, questionable mandated vote counting machines, ballot drop boxes, ballot harvesting, election month+ instead of one voting day, and no hand-counting of ballots allowed.
What could possibly give a reasonable thinking person trust in this chaotic mess Vermont Elected Officials call an election system?
You forgot follow the money….
I’m sorry, to disagree with this. If it were only a fair game, then yes this might work. But they are not playing by the rules, so it’s not going to move the needle to any degree, we have to know the battlefield in which we go to.
There is an entrenched uniparty structure in Vermont.
There is massive, controlled media.
We are the recruiting and training ground for the New World Order.
We are OWNED by non-profits, NGO’s and Lobbyists.
I can confirm with complete assurance that neither party wants to change, and the voters are even more inflexible.
There are 112, 704 people, if I recall the number correctly that get it. There is real trouble in river city.
This is David and Goliath.
This is Pepsi vs. Coke
We need to understand that our state has been subverted, how they did it and how extensive it is, it has to be unwound, no small feat.
This is massive complex change that is needed, there are things required.
1) Being…is this God’s will and timing. He’s in control, don’t be fooled, you and I can do nothing without his blessings.
Managing massive change takes a good outline and plan.
Is there a vision, skills, incentives, resources, action plan? Then you get change, without the above, nothing will happen.
No vision, leads to confusion
No skills, leads to anxiety
No Incentives, gradual change
No Resources, Frustration
No Action Plan, False starts.
It is not a one-man band. you can also diagnose the problems in reverse. What is the VTGOP experiencing, what are you personally experiencing? Does the party have anything in this outline? Can you humbly talk with the most conservative and marxist person and find common ground? If you can’t you’re dead in the water. There are common human needs not being met. What we are experiencing is not a fluke, it’s organized, by organizers…many of which follow Saul Alinsky and whom did Saul follow?
It’s a bigger problem, and they don’t care about your letters or meetings, they are going to do what they want, there are 10 people running the show in Montpelier, and we aren’t them.
#7 Stop listening to Commiecrat propaganda.
