VDC-TV’s Friday at Four enjoyed – and from a production angle, endured – its biggest audience ever as co-hosts Guy Page and Paul Bean interviewed Gen. Michael Flynn Friday afternoon, July 26 in a live telephone interview.
Flynn promoted the screening of his documentary film ‘Flynn,’ which will air 4 PM August 3 at Ignite Church on South Brownell Road in Williston and 4 PM August 4 at the VFW in Morrisville. Gen. Flynn will provide a live Zoom introduction at the Williston screening. Lt. Col. Ivan Raikman will provide a Q&A following both screenings. Kudos to Mark Coester of Westminster, the GOP candidate for the Vermont House who has been endorsed by Gen. Flynn, for helping VDC arrange the interview.
As viewers can tell, the Friday at Four production was going swimmingly until the screen suddenly froze. That happened a second after the Flynn team shared the VDC-TV link on Gen. Flynn’s X account, which has 1.6 million followers. The good news – no GREAT news – is that Friday at Four suddenly had a huge, international audience. Views on all three platforms – Facebook, X, and YouTube – all jumped. Fortunately the audio was unaffected and the interview went forward.
Numbers per se don’t matter. A singing cat can get two million views, but so what? What matters is that Friday at Four took a big step towards fulfilling one of our primary goals, which is to show the world a different side of Vermont than Ben & Jerry’s and Bernie Sanders.
We’re still trying to determine why the screen froze and how to prevent it from happening again when we interview Gen. Flynn after the August 3-4 screenings – which he has committed to do. His next visit may be in person, possibly during the Northfield Day Weekend. Our people are talking with his people.
Several takeaways from the interview –
- The political persecution that led to Flynn’s forced resignation as NSA came not only from the Obama national security team, but from within the Trump administration, Gen. Flynn said. The movie gets into that in detail.
- Gen. Flynn has a grudging admiration for Bernie Sanders. NOT for his socialist politics, but for his independent streak. He thinks Sanders as the Democratic nominee would have had more success than Hilary Clinton in the 2016 general election.
- He had deep New England roots (born and raised in Rhode Island, lived in Massachusetts, and visited Vermont to play college sports and ski at Mt. Mansfield).
The screen freeze taught us that we need to learn more and possibly upgrade our equipment in order to fulfill one of our goals for FAF: to show the nation and the world a younger, different alternative to the mainstream image of Vermont as safe house from which aging leftist hipsters launch progressive political movements.

Your interview with General Flynn was impressive. Well done, VDC. And thanks, too, to Mark Coester for helping set up the discussion. I’m looking forward to your review of Fynn’s coming visit and movie.
And do try to interview Victor Davis Hansen. VDC is definitely bursting on to the national political scene, which should encourage Vermont’s progressive/left to at least begin to participate in the discussion and finally explain their questionable points of view.
Yes, the Country needs to see that there are thousands of Vermonters who are America First Patriots! We’ve been silenced far too long in this State, have no representation and no voice. Thank you Guy Page, Vermont Daily Chronicle, Paul Bean, Mark Coester and General Mike Flynn.

I listened to the interview. When Flynn was asked if he has spoken to Trump, he stumbled and fumbled on the answer. Interestingly, he did the exact same thing on another interview a few months ago promoting his movie. The question isn’t that complicated or loaded…yet, he doesn’t seem able to answer it without wavering back n’ forth between yes and/or no.
Flynn was a high ranking official under Obama and briefly for Trump. He was dragged through the DC kangaroo courts for “alleged false statements involve conversations he had with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak when Flynn was incoming National Security Advisor to President-elect Trump, and Flynn agreed to cooperate with the Special Counsel investigation as part of a plea deal.” There seems to be some flim/flam on his charges, his plea deal, and subsequent pardon from DJT. He was at J6 with Patrick Byrne, Ann Vandersteele, Alex Jones, et. al. Yet, he isn’t arrested and held without due process as many other Americans/military veterans?
I don’t care to see his movie because it’s his version of events vs. official records, reports, and his actions thereafter. Since 2020, he is not the only one to have suffered and sacrificed under the boot of an installed regime. Many have come to conclude the “stop the steal” was a grift and a psyop. J6, another well crafted psyop to further divide the population (as if COVID wasn’t enough!) Everthing unfolding since hasn’t moved the needle much to resolution or unity – only more casualties piling up coast to coast. When Flynn says the American people losing trust in government is a threat to national security, I think there is a much bigger, ongoing, threat to national security. I don’t think riding in luxury tour buses and peddling swag is going to fix that threat any time soon. We shall see…..Discernment is key and vital no matter the military rank and celebrity status.
