  1. The winners are NGO’s
    The winners are Lobbyists
    The winners are non-elected nonprofits
    The winners are cancel culture
    The winners are censorship
The winners are private/public partnerships, aka cronyism
The winners are NWO pimps and organizations running our state.
The winners are every stupid idea getting free grant money
The winners are more government employees and higher wages for them
The winners are government school complex
The winners are healthcare system too expensive, ineffective and unable to even visit.

We can do better, but it’s not going to be in the next two years for sure.

Clearly the winners are not Vermont Citizens.
Affordability, Education and it’s funding along with crime and drugs will get no attention, why? Because their plan is for all to see.

You will own nothing and be happy.

Was this what our forefathers announced after they agreed to the Constitution and Bill of rights?

    Just asking for a friend.

    • Some might suggest we have a massive, completely effective bi-partisan, Uniparty in Vermont that has been able to keep Vermonters divided, hating each other, afraid to speak out against anything for fear of losing business, job or friends.

We have the idyllic Uniparty System, we get a 100% rating from WEF!!!!

Our VTGOP is the perfect, ineffective foil to the massive marxist regime, hiding behind a progressive mask.

      Wordsmiths they most certainly are.
      Organized, you bet.
Watch out for your rights and wallets Vermonters!

    • Oh, in the presidential election I think Trump got 112,704 votes

The total voting for Lt Gov this round? 22,425

So, I might argue, Republicans most certainly DID NOT vote in this primary, we were missing 90,000 voters.

Yet if President Trump held a rally in Vermont, and we had the capacity, I bet you’d see the largest political gathering the state of Vermont has ever witnessed, EVER.

We need to get serious about our governance in this state.
VTGOP is not serious about anything, except losing.

    • Don’t worry, half of the Dem votes weren’t from residents anyway…

    • Another election showing us that republicans in Vermont need to spend less time whining about the left and more time actually voting.
Are the vast majority of VT republicans too busy complaining to make it to the polls?

    • Vermonters are not divided. Or afraid to speak out. And we don’t hate each other. Consider that your views are so far out of the mainstream that no one in Vermont takes them seriously. Sorry you’re so unhappy.

    • Hi Mark, two of the most unpopular things in this state of recent history, that I’ve done I’m also most pleased with, despite public opinion, 1) Not getting vaccinated 2) Reading the Bible front to back.

The Standard American Diet is very popular, not good for you.
Fast food, junk food, pornography, sex before marriage all VERY popular.

Am I unhappy, no. Do I see massive issues in the governance of our state, most definitely.

We are unaffordable, in so many ways and areas.
We have a massive education problem, fiscally, administratively and of content.
We have a massive crime, drug and alcohol problem.

And no Vermont is not friendly to ideas or people who think outside the marxist box. One example, if you went to go see then Donald Trump speak at the flynn, you would have noticed a couple of glaring things.

Police presence like you’ve never seen in Vermont.
Protesting, hateful speech, shouting yelling, general mayhem.
A line of people 3/4 of mile long standing patiently, quietly, having an enjoyable evening waiting to see Donald Trump speak.

Contrast that with any Bernie political gathering….do you see protesting and mayhem.

Vermont from a national perspective is so far out to lunch politically is radical to say the least.

Look at anyone who ran on the VTDEM ticket that wasn’t full blown lefty….and you’ll see lots of love, lol.

Vermont has some great qualities, some not so great. Food quality and being good stewards are great qualities.

Go out and talk about how much and why you support President Trump, while wearing a MAGA hat, then let me know who gives you love and who doesn’t

Proof is in the pudding. Let us know.

Then go to MAGA rally with a Bernie Sanders t-shirt, let us know your results.

  2. The Democrat Chittenden Central was a bellwether race for me in terms of whether Vermont heads in a new direction. Hated to see Stewart Ledbetter lose as I think he would have brought some common sense to the statehouse.

I have been watching the changes to Vermont for many years now. Not sure the state will ever head back to the center. The Demogressives (Democrats/ Progressives) are well organized. The Republican Party is disorganized/ dysfunctional and fight amongst themselves as to who is a real Republican. Meanwhile the Demogressives just make further inroads. If you didn’t read John Klar’s commentary “Primary: Klar: John Rodgers for Lieutenant Governor!” (August 12), I encourage you to do so. Mr. Klar is a realist like me. While I applaud Greg Thayer for running for office, it will be near impossible for people with his views to get elected in Vermont. As Mr. Klar said, “Phil Scott is Vermont’s only Republican statewide officeholder.”

The movers come tomorrow. I have sold my home in Vermont. Know my decision to leave is the right one. The Vermont I have always loved is gone. Tough to see as a 7th generation Vermonter.

PS: for the usual commentators that will give the same old responses, I will save you some time and keystrokes. I don’t come back to read responses to my posts. I have come to learn that little is gained from arguing with people online.

    • Good luck out there Mark.
I hope selling your home was an easy process and that the new owners enjoy all that Vermont has to offer!

    • Best of luck Mark, sincerely. One of many bailing out. All now contributing their skills, experience, wisdom, ethics, morals, assets, and strengths in another State. Vermont’s losses continue to mount as other State’s receive our best and brightest. Many are not down laboring year after year only to be nickled and dimed into sustained mediocrity and indebted servitude. If it wasn’t for welfare and the industry built around welfare, Vermont would cease to exist. The only people making money in Vermont are the grifters and fraudsters. A cesspool of corruption and a grifter’s paradise.

The writing is on the wall indeed.

    • Another 7th generation Vter, I did that 2 years ago. Left with bittersweet feelings. But, in Georgia, property taxes are lower, as a retiree, paid $139 in income tax last year, as a disabled vet, I get a free car registration and utility bills are way lower.

    • Yes there were. Some were entertaining.

      Democratic votes were:

For Governor 9.65% were write ins
Most democratic write ins were for Phil Scott.
Dolly Parton got a got, though.

For Lieutenant Governor 1.25% were write ins mostly for John Rodgers

For senator 1.12% of the vote was write in mixed bag.
For US congress just 0.9% were write ins. Most for Mark Coester. JK Rowling got a vote.

    • Yes, John in Lamoille County, (Waterville & Cambridge) Paul Sciortino decided 5 days ago to be a write in republican to be on the ballot for November. His campaign was 120 hours. He received enough votes to be on the ballot in November to run against Lucy Boyden, who at the time was running un-opposed.

    • I should have added blank votes. They were higher than write-ins

      Democrats
      Governor – 24.73%
      Lt. Governor – 6.92%
      State Treasurer – 11.64%

      US Senate – 5.58%
      US Congress – 6.99%

      Republicans
      Governor – 5.4%
      Lt Governor – 8.63%
      State Treasurer – 19.94%

      US Senate. – 14.68%
      US Congress – 19.26%

Looks like democrats turned out for Federal offices and Lt Governor

Republicans turned out for Governor and Lt Governor races.

    • One last comment… apologies

State Treasurer only had 0.43% democratic write-ins.

But Hunter Biden got a mention.
And in one town Bernie Madoff got a nod.

  3. Congratulations!! Too all Republicans !!
