The attempted murder of a Lyndon man was occasioned by his racial comments about the suspect’s BIPOC children, a police affidavit cited by the Caledonian-Record says.
Alaina Bouchard, 35, of West Glover pleaded innocent Monday, September 9 in Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury to attempted murder and other charges after an early morning shooting at a man fleeing her home.
Five minutes after midnight on Saturday, Sept. 7, State Police received several 911 calls from Jordan Labounty, 35, of Lyndon Center, who reported having been shot at while fleeing a home in West Glover.
According to a police affidavit reported in a Tuesday, September 10 Caledonian-Record news story headlined “Gunfire Follows Drinks, Conversation About Racial Discrimination,’ Bouchard and Labounty met online and then at her home, enjoying drinks and getting to know each other. Then – “Bouchard made a comment that when people see her out with her children they don’t approach her because one of her children is Hispanic and another is African American.”
Labounty reportedly then said “Aryan’ people like him don’t like ‘people like that’ in Vermont,” adding that Bouchard “interpreted” his comments to mean “he did not want minorities in Vermont when that was not his intention.”
Trooper Rice’s court affidavit then said that Labounty said Bouchard stormed off inside the house, muttering death threats. Then Labounty decided to leave, but not soon enough – Bouchard emerged from the house and shot at his departing vehicle. Bullet holes were found in the front seat, police say.
For her part, Bouchard said she feared for her children and wished only to scare Labounty off, the Caledonian-Record news story said. She was ordered held without bail after her arraignment, where the prosecutor said it’s not the first time she has shot at someone.
There are no further details about an alleged shooting incident. However, in May of this year, Bouchard was arrested and cited for domestic assault in the presence of a child, according to Caledonian-Record police blotter reports. The incident reportedly happened on Bean Hill Road in Glover. Trooper Richard Berlandy stated that Bouchard was arrested and taken to the Vermont State Police Derby Barracks for processing. She was issued a citation requiring her to go to Orleans Superior Court for arraignment on Tuesday.

This person cannot be trusted near dangerous stuff, such as stairs, cars, pools, lakes, boats, airports, stores that sell dangerous cleaning chemicals, flammable materials, or power tools. Separate these pharma brain pill people from society, and stop harassing responsible gun owners with your illegal infringements.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Or around children… any parent that has a gun in a home with children should have it locked up. And certainly demonstrate responsible behavior about having a gun — and, rule no. 1: drinking and guns do not mix. I feel sorry for the children who will enter the system…and likely get lost. We still haven’t figured out how to actually SAVE kids from these kinds of experiences in their homes, let alone being farmed out to the DYFS.
We close our eyes and this is the result.
Online dating? First date at home and drinking? Not a lot of mature and responsible choice making here.

1. Single moms with multiple kids generally have different dads.
2. Woke people who are anti-1st and 2nd Amendment typically aren’t wrapped too tight. They often have firearms and say a lot of horrible things.
3. Drinking and drugs never lead to a wonderful, prosperous, and fulfilling life.
“Don’t F up and keep your nose clean” is what we used to be taught as boys.
I guess there aren’t many dads out there passing down that info, anymore.
Well, I get the point but am hesitant to blame the particular dads in this particular case, RGB. We don’t know…. maybe they are good dads hoping and praying their prodigals will come home. You just never know
It’s not a condemnation of anyone in particular… just a general thing.
Both men and women who are now into their mid and late 30’s have been affected by whatever we wanna call this madness. I really believe it has to do with easy baby-mama cash and the men who will assist women in that kind of financial planning, regardless if they’re just being irresponsible or deliberately doing so.
The fact that the easy dole exists is the culprit. The added-value of radical feminist ideology embedded into the Democrat Party has not been helpful for the average single male.
Anyway, I stand by what said, in any case. You guys have ALWAYS had the power to not fertilize the female nutcases out there. Please behave accordingly.

The fact the shooter checked all the appropriate DEI boxes in her confession, I assume the State will overlook the trigger happiness of said shooter? Perhaps find a way to charge the victim with a hate crime? The hypocrisy rears it’s ugly head when it is one of their proxies firing rounds with children present. This person is not a poster child for gun control – she’s justified and excused because she’s woke. Watch it play out accordingly. Remember the spitter at the height of COVID?
The police blotters are full now with co-existers shooting and assaulting with impunity. Mental illness crisis? Yes, they created it and now it is manifesting for all to witness and the “change” we can all pay for – some with our lives.
Leftists are always seeking “root causes” for antisocial behavior. Go back to Lyndon Johnson’s “great society programs” and see what happens when you reward fatherless motherhood…
