Hank, the Rottweiler found abandoned and 77 pounds underweight in a St. Albans home last year, moved into his dream home in upstate New York on January 8, according to a social media post by rescue organization Potter’s Angels.

Hank’s new home is nothing short of paradise for any dog: a sprawling 90-acre property where he can roam freely and explore to his heart’s content. His new parents have vowed to take him everywhere they go, ensuring that Hank will never feel lonely again. The first night in his new home was spent nestled between them.

“Hank immediately loved his new family,” Potters Angels reported.

Potters Angels thanked the efforts of Vermonters Against Animal Cruelty and Abandonment, an organization dedicated to finding loving homes for animals in need. The community’s outpouring of support—through donations and by spreading Hank’s story—played a crucial role in securing his happily-ever-after.

“He has so much love to give and he will get that ten-fold in his new home,” Potters Angels said. 

Meanwhile, the man accused of leaving one-and-a-half year old Hank without food, water or heat for an extended time inside a Fisher Road home is facing charges. On Christmas Eve, police took 34-year-old Kyle Gratton into custody, charging him with felony cruelty to animals under 13 VSA 352. Gratton is scheduled to appear in the Franklin County Superior Courthouse on Feb. 4 at 8:30 a.m.
