BARTON — The village of Barton will host the third annual Barton Celebrates! on Saturday, Aug. 15, a daylong history and resilience event at the Barton Public Library. All food, music and events are free and open to all.

The day begins at 11 a.m. with a historic Barton village walking tour led by historian and Barton native Dan Taylor. The tour group will meet at the library parking lot. Plein air artists from the Northeast Kingdom will also be set up beginning at 11 a.m.

A vendor fair featuring area nonprofits and local products runs from noon to 4 p.m.

The third annual Taste of Barton begins at 12:30 p.m. with free food samples from Roberto’s Neapolitan Pizza, the Farm Boy Drive-In and Smash Squash Taco Joint, served at the library.

Free live music follows from 1 to 4 p.m. in the library’s Giving Garden, with the Uni Singers performing from 1 to 1:45 p.m. and the Michael Hahn Trio from 2 to 4 p.m.

An after party at the Lake House Saloon begins at 5 p.m., where the raffle winner will be drawn at 5:30 p.m. Winners must be present to claim the prize.

Raffle proceeds benefit kuRRve for ongoing Northeast Kingdom flood resilience efforts. Donations are welcome. The full schedule is available at bartoncelebrates.com.
