Vermont Stands Up is ready to begin accepting submissions from content creators for its film festival to be held at the Main Street Landing Film House in Burlington on Saturday, October 3rd.
The United We Stand Media Fest will showcase citizen journalism and documentaries, as well as the courageous content creators who produce them. Topics of interest align with the mission of Vermont Stands Up and include food sovereignty, school choice, informed consent, land use rights, privacy, independent journalism & representation.
Visual media producers with relevant content to share are encouraged to apply. Preferential treatment will be given to content creators who reside in or near Vermont and would like to participate in panel discussions about their work.
The goal of the day’s events is to unite producers and viewers around the need for courageous content that promotes freedom.
From 1:00 – 5:00 pm audience members will have the opportunity to view an array of content of varying lengths- from 3 minute “shorts” to 25 minute documentaries- interspersed with panel discussions and Q&A sessions with the producers.
After a dinner break audience members will be invited to return for a 7:00 pm showing of the film 15 Days: The REAL Story Behind the Pandemic School Closures. The director of 15 Days, Natalya Murakhver, will be available throughout the day and in the evening to share her experience and motivation taking on challenging and important topics, such as the impacts the Covid response measures had on youth.

Vermont Stands Up is supported in this venture by several sponsors, including Murakhver’s organization, Restore Childhood and Main Street Landing on the Burlington waterfront, where the event is being held.
Additional sponsors are invited to support this project and will be given the opportunity to host a display table in the lobby to share promotional materials throughout the day.
Details about the event, including the application for content submissions and how to become a sponsor, is available at: VermontStandsUp.org/united-we-stand-media-fest/
