Cops still seeking shooter of man found dead 1 year ago

Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the death of Brian Bailey, 46, at his home in the Rutland County town of Brandon.

Bailey was found deceased at about 7 a.m. May 24, 2025, in his home on Champearl Road. The Vermont State Police is continuing to investigate this death as suspicious. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington determined the cause of Mr. Bailey’s death was a gunshot wound, while the manner of death was listed as undetermined.

Detectives have worked closely with the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office and specialized units within the state police, including the Technology Investigation Unit, as the case has progressed.
