A 19-year-old Burlington man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting Tuesday evening in the parking lot of a Domino’s Pizza, according to WPTZ News 5.

South Burlington Police said they received a report of shots fired at about 7:23 p.m. Officers arrived within two minutes, but all individuals involved had already left the scene.

A short time later, a victim connected to the incident arrived at University of Vermont Medical Center with an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from an altercation between individuals who knew each other. Police said all parties involved were quickly identified and located.

On Wednesday, officers arrested David Francis-Lutz, 19, of Burlington, and charged him with attempted murder in connection with the incident.

Police emphasized there is no ongoing threat to the public.

As of Tuesday night, cruisers remained stationed outside the restaurant, with crime scene tape surrounding the entrance. Franchise owner Stefan Radan said the location would remain closed during the investigation but declined further comment.

The investigation remains active. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Sgt. David MacDonough.

  1. Yes, sure a 19 year old is “technically” teen, but c’mon we all know that they are a young adult. I would much prefer the headline to have read “man charged with attempted murder outside Domino’s”…just sayin’
