A 75-year-old Concord woman has died from injuries she sustained in a single-vehicle crash last month in Lunenburg, according to the Vermont State Police.
The crash occurred at about 4:09 p.m. on Feb. 19 on River Road/East Concord Road near the intersection of Walker Pit Road.
Police said a 2002 Honda Odyssey driven by Elizabeth Dawson, 31, of Concord lost traction on black ice while negotiating a sweeping curve. The vehicle left the roadway and struck several trees on the eastern side of the road.
Dawson was evaluated at the scene and released with minor injuries. A passenger, Norlene Emrick-Brooks, 75, of Concord, was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Littleton Regional Healthcare in New Hampshire before being airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment.
State police said Emrick-Brooks later died from her injuries on March 3.
Neither Dawson nor Emrick-Brooks was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to investigators.
Lunenburg Fire Department, Concord Fire and Rescue, and Lancaster Ambulance also responded to the scene. The vehicle sustained significant front-end damage and was totaled.

Sounds like speed was a very big factor in this accident. Icy roads are still manageable at the proper speed. The fact that she took out several trees tells me that she was driving too fast
Speed, yes possibly. But neither one was wearing a seat belt. The 31 year old should have insisted that they both wear their seatbelts. Maybe the 75 year old would have walked away too?
