A VDC headline of a post published at 6:30 tonight incorrectly stated that a Barre transient was arrested for murder today. In fact the victim of the attack survived and Eric Shepard wad charged with second-degree (attempted) murder.

The incorrect headline was corrected minutes later. The Chronicle regrets the error.
