Protect children, shutter the windows

In response to school shootings in Nashville and Minneapolis by transgender attackers, I am urging hard coverage of exterior windows in public and private schools for the purpose of protecting the children and staff from armed assaults.
This subject is hard for some people to talk about because they think transgender assailants are a protected class. Others think ‘this is Vermont and it can’t happen here.’ The reality is every state’s Christian children are a potential target for transgender assaults. In both Minneapolis and Memphis, the attacker shot through school windows after being unable to access the school due to locked doors.
As a parent whose children were in a Christian school, this is a danger I could not ignore. I have suspended their attendance at school until the windows are secured, preferably by full length, mechanical indoor shutters.
It amazes me that after the principal of the school agreed with me at first that the windows presented a danger, a week later he told me the work would not be done to secure the windows. And he told me not to attend the school board meeting.
l am home schooling my children until the school board is made aware of the danger and secures the windows. And I advise other parents in this situation to homeschool your children until you’re confident your kids are safe from a transgender terrorist.
I am bringing this danger to the attention of legislators this January. You can help by talking to your state senator or house member. You may contact me at Brianpearl1@gmail.com. – Brian Pearl, Grand Isle
What do town committees do?
I have been asked, why do we need a town committee? and What does a town committee do? I found this on the GOP website. Hope this helps to answer some questions.
A Town Committee’s #1 goal is to maximize the Republican vote in their town. They should actively participate in all facets of party building and electoral campaigning.
Regular Duties – Town committees should get to know their Republican and Independent neighbors, collect their email addresses, and invite them to local Party events. In non-election years, town committees should stay up to date on the issues that face theircommunities, and the issues that are most important to residents, and regularly share that information with legislators and Party Officials.
Town committees should also seek to expand their committee, add new members and compile a list of volunteers.
Campaign Capabilities: Recruitment: Committees should actively support their local candidates, or recruit new ones where there is no Republican incumbent. Ask your County Chair for helpful tools from the State Party to brainstorm a list of potential candidates.
Ballot Access: Committees should build and maintain a list of 50 voters in the town who are willing to sign petitions to help Republican candidates get access to the primary ballot. This is a critical asset to have available when the candidate filing deadline comes, or when write-in candidates are identified.
Voter Registration: Committees should work to register new voters in their town and promote early and absentee voting in their community. Check with your County Chair for quarterly “New Movers” list
Volunteering: Committees should assist the County Committee and general election candidates with canvassing and phone banking in their town, and help recruit other volunteers as well.
Election Process: Committees should ensure that if there are no Republicans on the BCA or equivalent election authority, that they nominate others to fill those spaces. Committees should also work to recruit volunteers both to work the polls in coordination with the town clerk or other official, and if all those positions are filled, provide appropriate oversight for any poll watching. – Ed Wheeler, Middlebury
Illegal roundup stifling economic growth?
Peter Morisi on Fox said today that rounding up illegals is stifling our economy because many are working and we have no replacements. Immigration only allows 60,000 a year which is way inadequate to keep our economy going.
I was at the post office Friday and noticed hiring posters all around. Starting wage is $25.40 with full benefits and a raise every 9 months. High range is close to $40 an hour. They can’t find employees.
Inflation will increase per Morisi and stagnation will result with no growth but he didn’t agree we’ll have a recession. Frank Mazur, South Burlington
