A Bellows Falls solar power developer and 2022 GOP nominee for the U.S. House is calling for a boycott and strikes of Israeli companies and says he will provide ‘free solar energy’ in support of strikers.
A new petition calls on state legislatures to cut ties with Israeli companies — and with businesses that financially support them — in response to what organizer Liam Madden describes as ongoing war crimes in Gaza. The campaign’s creator argues that U.S. funding and arms shipments make Americans complicit in the humanitarian crisis, citing testimony from aid workers and rulings from the International Court of Justice.
“I am offering some free solar energy to anyone who can more directly withhold their support from Israel,” Madden said.
Pro-Palestinian military force Hamas invaded Israel in October, 2023, killing more than 2000 people, mostly civilians, and taking many hostages. Since then, Israeli’s military retaliation to neutralize Hamas has resulted in civilian suffering in Gaza, for which many Vermont officials – including all three members of Congress – have condemned Israel.
Although a political independent, Madden was the Republican Party nominee in the 2022 United States House of Representatives election in Vermont. A critic of the two-party system, he stated that if elected, he would not caucus with House Republicans. According to his LinkedIn page, Madden, of Bellows Falls, is affiliated with Light on Earth Solar Partners.
Beyond urging residents to sign and share the petition, Madden is offering practical support to those willing to take more direct action. Vermonters on the Green Mountain Power grid who strike from jobs in the federal government, weapons manufacturing, or shipping companies could receive free solar energy to cover their electricity bills during the work stoppage.
The initiative, the organizer says, aims to remove financial barriers for people withholding their labor or business from entities seen as enabling the war, while encouraging broader solidarity with civilians in Gaza.
Madden does not say how much free solar energy he is prepared to offer, now does he explain how it would be delivered. VDC has reached out to Vermont Shalom Alliance for their comment on the proposed strike and solar energy offer.

I called in all Vermonter’s to boycott Madden and his solar company!! God warns, those who bless Israel his beloved will be blessed. Those who curse Israel will be cursed. We are in the times, tou will have to pick a side, better make sure it’s the right one, you only get one by the way! God bless Israel, his beloved.
I’ll probably take heat for this, but whatever. Jacob is Israel. Israel is a genealogy, a family lineage, not a piece of land. All who have the Faith of Abraham and believe Jesus is their Savior is a child of Abraham. God’s offer of salvation is for people who live both inside and outside of the nation of Israel formed in 1948, including Liam Madden. Claiming that 1948 Israel is somehow specially anointed, especially without being repentant, is abuse of Scripture. This war is grotesque, as are all wars. This is not a “holy” war to justify killing on either side. People might consider inter-testimental writings and not the Rabbinical teachings embedded in both Catholicism and some branches of Protestantism.
I think people need to watch the BiBi Files documentary.
Those suffering in Gaza are primarily victims of Hamas. He is effectively declaring his antisemitism and garnishing financial support exclusively for antisemites…..either that or he’s really stupid and/or misinformed. Sure feels like the end times.
War is war and the murder of thousands of innocent people is pure evil. I DO NOT stand with Israel, I DO STAND with America. Just my 2 cents worth, like it or not!

I agree, but, watch your sources. If Covid taught us anything, you can’t trust MSM. Not all is as it appears my friend. I’ve seen the things Hamas did to innocent Israelis. And Hamas is killing their own now as well. Find better sources, Hamas is demonic.
I agree Josh, Hamas is pure evil, but we don’t need to be involved… and believe me, I trust MSM as far as I can spit, and when I spit it dribbles down my chin.

500 sq.ft. roof space for a 5000 W array, producing 500 kWh/mo. At $.20/kWh, that’s $100/month benefit. Worth quitting your job? Make it make sense.
Key word here is FORMER nominee. And I suspect he is not really a MAGA republican, or even anything close to a real republican. And the once beautiful Vermont country side is now BLEMISHED with those ugly solar panels that will one day be a major problem when removal comes along. Remember the super toxic old mines in Vermont? Finally, he needs a shave, he looks skruffy.
Madden clearly ran to knock out both Tynio and Reddic in the Republican primary, and it worked.
Madden is not a Republican and should not have been on ballot as a Republican.
Hamas could end the war now by returning the hostages.

How can he be a Republican? He cannot. He clearly doesn’t understand what happened when the Palestinian/Hamas slaughtered 2,300 people; burning grandmothers to death in wheelchairs while the family watched, or killed children in front of their mothers and fathers before the parents were killed or raping and dragging Israeli woman through the streets of Gaza while Palestinian women cheered.
The punks ran from and were beat badly by an Israeli Army unit of most woman.
Israel is at war with Palestine/Gaza – it is that simple. The punk Hamas cowards use tactics developed by N. Korea during the Korean war.; hiding and shooting from schools, religious building, medical facilities and hiding among civilians relying on Western Values not to go after them. It was perfected in Vietnam, I witnessed it.
In WWII we bombed the hell out of Germany and Japan as they bombed Pearl Harbor and London. War is a horrible thing, the Palestinians/Hamas should not have attacked Israel.
So to stop the carnage, this misinformed individual should simply demand the release of the Hostages and for Hamas to give-up their weapons and get out so the healing can begin.
Otherwise this guy is just supporting more terrorism, hate and destruction.
To ‘cut ties with Israeli companies and businesses that support them’ , as Liam suggests, would almost be impossible.
Israeli influence, money and power is pretty much world wide.

The very first sentence of this article caught my attention! “Solar Power Developer”. My question is how much money or grants or favors did this particular company get from a Democrat led State or Government entity?

And like someone above said, in so many words, war is Hell.
And whole cities have been decimated, not just in Japan, but many times in history.
Those borders all over the world aren’t forever. They never were.
Seems humanity enjoys Hell.
A bigger tragedy is coming.
That is and always was typical of civilization.
No amount of global rule, people’s opinions, or security will prevent it.
