WESTMORE — A 24-year-old Westfield man was arrested July 15 in connection with an incident where he allegedly pointed a firearm at three people at South Beach on Lake Willoughby on July 4.
Dominic Stearns faces three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and three counts of reckless endangerment.
Vermont State Police said investigation revealed that Stearns brandished and pointed a firearm at three individuals at the South Beach location at 11:32 p.m. July 4.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Troopers encountered Stearns operating a motor vehicle on Vermont Route 100 in Newport Center at approximately 6:30 p.m. July 15 and conducted an investigatory motor vehicle stop.
Stearns was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Vermont State Police Derby barracks for processing.
He was later held on $500 bail with conditions of release imposed by the court and cited to appear in Orleans Criminal Court on July 16 at 12:30 p.m.
Police originally responded to South Beach on July 4 after receiving reports of an individual threatening others with a weapon, but all involved parties had fled the scene when officers arrived.
Police believe other individuals may have witnessed the incident and are encouraged to contact the Vermont State Police Derby barracks at 802-334-8888.
Lyndonville police seek person in connection with Memorial Drive retail theft
LYNDONVILLE — Police are seeking to speak with a person who may have information about a retail theft that occurred July 16.

The Lyndonville Police Department received a complaint that an unknown person entered a local merchant at 6585 Memorial Drive and removed approximately $25 worth of goods before leaving without paying.
Police would like to speak to a person pictured in a photograph they released as they may have information about the situation.

Woman arrested on domestic assault charge in St. Johnsbury
ST. JOHNSBURY — A 43-year-old woman was arrested Sunday morning on a domestic assault charge.
Vermont State Police troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to a report of domestic assault at approximately 8:02 a.m. July 13.
Investigation revealed that Sheena Mohr of St. Johnsbury had committed domestic assault, police said.
Mohr was arrested and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
She was issued a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division on July 14 at 12:30 p.m.
Mohr was held at the Northeastern Correctional Complex for lack of $200 bail.
Driver arrested on Interstate 91 for second DUI offense in Lyndon
LYNDON — A New Hampshire man was arrested on Interstate 91 South at Mile Marker 136 on July 12 after multiple 911 calls reported erratic driving.
Tracey Johnson, 53, of Monroe, N.H., was charged with his second DUI offense following the 7:34 p.m. incident.
Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks received several 911 calls at approximately 7:26 p.m. reporting a vehicle continuously crossing over the fog line and nearly colliding with guardrails.
Eight minutes later, troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle matching the description provided to dispatchers.
The operator identified himself as Johnson, and troopers observed indicators of impairment during their interaction.
Johnson was taken into custody and processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.
He was later released with a citation to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court – Criminal Division.
