The Vermont State Police announced Monday that the death of Tina Daigle, 38, of Hardwick has been ruled a homicide.

Thursday, June 19 police received a report that a woman’s body had been found at a roadside pull-off along Route 14.

According to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington, Daigle died from asphyxiation due to compression of the neck. Her body was discovered last month, and an autopsy was completed on June 20.

According to her obituary, Daigle attended Hardwick Elementary and graduated from Hazen Union High School 

She was employed as an LNA in several Nursing Home’s in the Northeast Kingdom, as well as working at Morrisville Resources Thrift Store, and operated Tina’s Boutique, an online shop.

Her obituary said she enjoyed collecting items related to highland cows, native American culture and apples, the outdoors, all animals especially dogs, and time at the lake including fishing.
