Yes, and you are invited!
by John Klar
For my Vermont readers, I wish to invite you to attend a unique opportunity to gather and celebrate Vermont’s conservative political gains in the 2024 state elections. We live in times when many quite openly support a one-party political domination both in Vermont and nationally. I’m a big fan of hearing at least two sides (preferably more) to every important discussion, and past years of enduring Vermont’s tyrannical progressive supermajority and its relentless regulation and taxation of Vermonters have convinced me more than ever of the importance of bipartisan rather than monopartisan political representation.

On February 6th beginning at 6:30 PM at the spacious Capitol Plaza, the Vermont Republican Party will host a rare (because we have been such a tiny minority) victory celebration! Governor Phil Scott, always gracious and welcoming (even to his detractors, of which I have more than occasionally been), will join our House and Senate leaders — and our new walkaway Lieutenant Governor, John Rodgers — to discuss the 2024 election races, current developments in Vermont’s 2025 legislative session, and plans for next year both legislatively and for election 2026.
Perhaps you have never been to an event like this — please consider checking it out! This is an event where people put aside their differences and celebrate their shared hopes for a better Vermont. The “Victory” aspect of this particular celebration is truly important and worth celebration — Republican House and Senate gains in 2024 mean the Progressive Vermont supermajority has been vanquished, and our Governor will no longer face a slate of veto overrides when he rightly tries to protect Vermonters from ill-considered progressive policies that saddle our poorest citizens with higher taxes and fees, our small businesses uncompensated and costly regulatory burdens, and all of us with attacks on our fundamental liberties of speech, gun rights, hunting traditions, and other freedoms we must not take for granted.

(See! Even political rivals can get along just fine while disagreeing on some issues — that is the Vermont tradition!)
Come mingle with legislators and tell them your opinions and concerns. Meet county and town Republican chairs who volunteer to support candidates, and perhaps consider running for office in 2026, or support others in your town.
Light appetizers and a cash bar augment what is always a pleasant social break from work, chores and the routine of our lives. See old friends, make new ones, and learn things you can’t read or hear about anywhere else.
Tickets (used to cover the costs of the forum and catering) are available here.
For those who cannot attend, or who wish to underwrite this event or donate in support of our fast-growing Green Mountain Republican Revolution, please contact our State Party Chair Paul Dame at paul@vtgop.org.

(Will Vermont’s former Governor James Douglas attend the GOP Victory Party on February 6? One never knows — the affable and comedic retired Governor is a consummate social butterfly, so I doubt he can resist. This event is probably like a bowl of milk for a cat to Jim: he can’t resist a warm gathering any more than a cat would turn down fresh raw milk from a cow!)

Come one, come all , as we are just one big happy family. Sorry, the bird feeder is empty and there will be no donations to any group. Waiting for the grand performance from the new gang in the Vermont state house. Have you set an example and gave up your free meal card?????
Well, this is a great first step by Vermont Conservatives. It’s Okay to celebrate, but we are a long way from saving our state from the cancerous progressives.
So circle the wagons and let’s prove, we can save the state and bring it back from the debt, and horrendous taxes used to support liberal nonsense policies !!
