Overturned truck on Rte. 7 in Charlotte

A 65-year-old Randolph man died January 6 when his car crossed the centerline on Rte. 66 in Randolph and struck an oncoming car, state police say.

Donald Price was not wearing a seatbelt when his eastbound Nissan Frontier struck a Subaru Outback driven by Cynthia Brown, 67, of Randolph. Price’s car came to a position of uncontrolled rest in a ditch. He died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

Brown was seriously injured and was taken by helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The 10:45 AM accident took place on dry roads and amid clear conditions.

Tractor trailer overturned after hitting black ice – January 7 at 4:30 PM, state Police responded to an overturned tractor trailer, carrying an unknown liquid, on Rte. 7 in Charlotte. Both travel lanes were blocked by the tractor trailer and traffic in the area was reduced to a single lane prior to the road being temporarily shut down.

Troopers say Daniel LaVictoire, 42, of Ontario CA, was driving the truck when he encountered a snow drift and black ice on the road causing it to temporarily lose control. The tractor-trailer jack knifed before rolling onto its side. The tanker was damaged, however did not cause any hazardous leak. A diesel leak from the truck was found and quickly contained. LaVictoire was not injured.

  1. Tractor trailer overturns. You get a bad feeling when you look out your driver window and see the back of your trailer passing you.
