  1. Joan Shannon must be proud of her queen city after decades of public service. Time to move on to another job.

  2. Being a semi-moderate democrat, Joan Shannon embodies the extreme right wing of Burlington elected politics. Along with Police Chief Jon Murad, she is just one more of the few decent, responsible and reasonable public officials who provided any kind of anchorage to reality for the city in the post-George Floyd/BLM era. They are now understandably taking their leave as the city crumbles around them. They did what they could but the majority of voters seem to prefer anarchy, lawlessness and addiction on routine display. Thanks for your many years of service Joan and Jon.
