B & E with truck/ safe-busting at Town Office

by Guy Page
A Bridport man was arrested Monday evening and held on $2,500 bail after an alleged firearm-related altercation at a Bridport home.
State Troopers responded to a 911 call at 6:18 p.m. from Crown Point Road. The investigation determined that Travis Norris, 26, threatened to inflict serious bodily harm on a Bridport neighbor, Eliud Sanchez, 44.
Norris was apprehended and taken to the New Haven State Police Barracks for processing.
Following processing, he was ordered held on $2,500 bail at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility. Norris was scheduled to appear in Addison County Superior Court, Criminal Division, Dec. 17.
This is not Norris’ first encounter with the law. Press reports say he was cited for DUI in November, 2021 and in November 2019 police say he lied to law enforcement trying to implicate another. In February 2020 he was indicted, as part of a large federal drug bust, for making false statements in connection with the attempted acquisition of a firearm from a licensed dealer.
Breaking and entering with truck – Thieves crashed a stolen truck into the front of a convenience store early yesterday morning.
December 17 at 2:33 AM, State Police responded to an alarm located at the Sunoco in West Rutland.
Police say someone(s) burglarized the store by driving the truck into the front entrance of the store to gain entry and taking items from within the store. The vehicle was stolen from the Dorset area prior to this incident.
The Vermont State Police are asking for public assistance in identifying the operator and locating the truck. Please call the Rutland State Police Barracks 802-773-9101 with information.
$5000 bail for busting into Town Office safe – At 5 AM Dec. 17, State Police received a report of a burglary at the Municipal Building in the Village of North Troy. Poluce say Darin Farley, 37, of North Troy forcefully entered into the building and attempted to break into a safe causing damage.
Farley had active court ordered conditions of release outlining a curfew which he was later found to be in violation of. After investigation, Farley was taken into custody for the curfew violation. During processing, probable cause was developed to charge Farley with the crime of burglary. Farley was held on lack of $5,000 bail and transported to Northern State Correctional Facility.
