We’ve grown this year.
Vermont Daily Chronicle added fulltime reporter Michael Bielawski and assistant editor Tim Page. Veteran cops & courts reporter Mike Donoghue contributes regularly. In addition to their skilled reporting, as well as my own efforts and those of contributors Alison Despathy, Rob Roper, Aaron Warner, and others, we republish timely news stories of statewide interest from a growing number of community newspapers.
Readers have responded! With weeks to go, we’ve set new annual records in views (pages looked at), visits, and comments.
And there’s more exciting news: we now publish a second online daily newspaper: the Burlington Daily News.
Looking ahead to 2024, I welcome your participation. First, please tell me, by return email, what we can do to make the Chronicle a better online daily newspaper. We always want to improve news coverage and delivery.
Second, please become a 2024 Sustaining Subscriber today by making a one-time, annual contribution of $108, or on a monthly basis at $9.
Readers have never been charged for receiving the Chronicle, and never will be. If you believe in our mission and wish to help defray our considerable labor, software, mailing and website expenses, please become a valued Sustaining Subscriber.
I will be frank. Unless more readers contribute as Sustaining Subscribers, VDC cannot continue to grow, or even continue our current level of service. We rely on you.
For giving online, we’ve transitioned from PayPal to Stripe.com. To contribute $9 per month on a recurring basis, please click here.
To contribute on a one-time annual basis of $108, please click here.
If online giving isn’t your thing, checks (suggested annual contribution of $108) may be mailed to: Vermont Daily Chronicle, P.O. Box 1547, Montpelier, Vermont, 05601. Your support is not tax-deductible.
Thank you,
Free Speech Forever,
Guy Page, Editor and Publisher

How do I subscribe to the Burlington Daily News?
Since I discovered your service, what you present, is my go to reading, for VT news, and issues, and I really like to read the comments, and discussions, of the issues, that other services, did away with, making them a mouthpiece of the left, if you can follow my dig.
I gladly sent a check for 108 dollars, figuring that in these times, of mass censorship, and attempts at changing history, to fit one political view, 108 bucks is a cheap price to pay, to help support freedom of speech ,in my book, and Burlington’s other paper, has gone unchallenged, in getting the word out, for far too long. Competition is very good, and what this country was built on…competition and freedom of speech and a real free press, not just one in name only.
In my life I have witnessed first hand in many countries what happens to a press that is help captive and lacks these freedoms we have so we must preserve these freedoms at all coasts so I urge others to support this platform as long as it holds true and allows other opinions from the public unlike another platform that started out well but dug it’s own grave.
Please excuse the lack of editing as I hit send before I finished checking by mistake.
Congratulations to all !! Happy Holidays and happy new year 🌲
Thank you
The Vermonter
