I like the GOP ‘LET’S GET REAL’ Agenda/Campaign. Before I resigned my seat in the House of Representatives on March 2, 2024 for health reasons, I did as much as I could to be the voice of the people who elected me. In my committee (Agriculture, Food Sustainability, and Forestry), I often spoke of their abuse to taxpayers. I also wrote many articles for the Vermont Daily Chronicle and the Caledonian-Record. All of my statements were truthful and verifiable as to what is really going on in the Vermont House of Representatives. Unity in Vermont is what is needed. Vermont needs to live up to its state motto of “Freedom and Unity”, the Pledge of Allegiance and the Vermont and Federal Constitutions. Legislators must represent the Oath of Office and the will of the people not party politics, unions and agendas that bankrupt Vermont.
I was elected by my constituents in 2022 to serve in the 2023 and 2024 Legislative session. I had one gift of $100 in the Caledonia GOP and spent $330 of my own money. My two competitors had $20,000 of mostly state money. I refused to ask our taxpayers for donations to my campaign. Once in office, I brought forth two bills to lower taxes. H.594 repeals the Social Security tax on seniors and H.671 repeals the Affordable Heat Act and the Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA). My intention with H.671 is to dismantle the agenda and myths of the climate emergency. Now I don’t deny that there are problems with pollution and the climate… and political climate in Vermont, to suggest that we get rid of everything that runs on fossil fuels—ships, trucks, home heating, vehicles etc. and change to electric is impossible and therefore foolish. In a time of gross and unconstitutional spending and taxation, it has actually been suggested that we put up more charging stations when electric vehicle sales are way down.
I question the climate crisis because of the following facts:
1960- The United Nations told us oil would be gone in 10 years
1970- The United Nations told us we would have another ice age in 10 years
1980- The United Nations told us acid rain would destroy crops in 10 years
1990- The United Nations told us the ozone layer would be gone in 10 years
2000- The United Nations told us the ice caps would melt in 10 years and Y2K would cause
world chaos.
None of these things happened!
In 2020- The United Nations told us of a climate emergency in 10 years. Why is that believable? The water level at the Statue of Liberty has been the same for centuries. It is hard to imagine why anyone would back Joe Biden who in three years ruined the United States of America and Vermont followed. How did we ever let this happen? Some claim former President Trump led an insurrection, but the same people ignored Black Lives Matter and Antifa who wreaked havoc on cities, police, and citizens. Why did we allow this?
In 2023, the Vermont legislature passed Universal School meals. I voted against this because it is unsustainable. Now in 2024, the same people want a few million more for summer meals and camps despite declining school enrollments. This is even more unaffordable and the real reason is to feed illegal immigrants. Add to this housing, not for Vermonters, but illegal immigrants. To make it worse, there are reports of many now being housed in Berlin, Burlington and Rutland at taxpayer’s expense. The Vermont citizen has not been heard but overburdened. The power of the citizen is in grave danger, it has been turned over to special interests, unions, and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Global Governance and political deals. Recently, the leader of the Vermont Senate insulted the GOP, Vermont’s press, the Committee Chairs, and most of all Vermont taxpayers. This is inexcusable. True leadership is horizontal not vertical, meaning you never talk down to people. Honesty is in demand, not political agendas, compromises and costly legislation. The political system in Vermont has failed. Liberal Progressive/Democrats are to blame. There is no “sugar daddy” in Washington to bail anyone out!
Be vigilant, respectful, and honest. We need to resist bad Government. You are either for or against the United States of America, and “Freedom and Unity”. A house divided against itself will fall. Ultimately it is the VOTERS who can change the Vermont Legislature. Remember the taxes and fees. VOTE like your Home, Life and Family are threatened, because they are. Be responsible. If you don’t VOTE, you’re responsible for the wrong people being in our government.
All of this said, I plan to strengthen my health and run again in November 2024 for the 2025-2026 Legislative term.
