Today, Friday Nov. 19, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and Sen. Bernie Sanders will visit two elementary schools in Burlington to highlight early childhood education and youth vaccination, according to a statement issued by Sanders’ office.
First, they will visit a pre-k program at Sustainability Academy at Lawrence Barnes to underscore the importance of early childhood education. Then they will visit Champlain Elementary School where Cardona will speak to afterschool teachers, visit a COVID-19 student vaccine clinic, and encourage students and families to get vaccinated.
During the tour, Secretary Cardona will learn more about Burlington School District’s commitment to inoculating all eligible students, including children ages 5-11 who are being served by the on-site clinic.
More than 225 million Americans have received their first shot, including 15 million 12- to 17-year-olds. Over ten percent of children ages 5-11 have already received at least one dose of the vaccine since it became available on November 8.
Cardona’s pending visit elicited this comment from Vermont Daily Chronicle reader and educator Genna Barnaby of Colchester, republished with her permission:
“These pharmaceutical-government marriage medical dictates, namely this COVID-19 injection, do not belong in our schools in Vermont – not in our liberty-loving society with the inalienable human right to heal freely and without intervention or interference. A school nurse’s office should be reserved solely for medication for the individual child and caring for the general wellbeing of our children, not a distribution center for a product that has zero liability for the manufacturer, giving Big Pharma immunity instead of the injected recipient.
“So far in Vermont, 52 Vermont youth have been reported into the VAERS system for injuries and being given the COVID-19 injection that was not intended for them. As of November 5, 29 deaths in the U.S. from the age of birth to age 17 have been reported into VAERS following receipt of the COVID-19 injection.
“Vermont youth have shown a 100% recovery rate from COVID-19 so far. Remember that the intention of school is for learning, growing, and facilitating success in our country’s future through our children. School is not and should never be a medical product-promoting business.”
