by Rep. Charles Wilson
I sincerely offer my gratitude to everyone who cast their vote for me on November 8 and granted me the opportunity to represent and serve the people of Caledonia 3 District. My promise to all of my constituents is to respect my Oath of Office at all times, uphold the inalienable, Constitutional rights of the people and work diligently to solve problems and seek answers to the issues we face here in Vermont.
On January 4, 2023, I will take my Oath of Office as your elected Representative. I pledge to always abide by and respect this oath. This oath is my guide and it is my honor and duty to work at all times to defend and protect individual Constitutional rights and ensure that these remain fully intact as we move forward and create legislation. This is the highest priority in order to secure our Constitutional Republic and the future of freedom for humanity.
Solving problems and protecting and defending the divine, inalienable rights of the people as guaranteed by our Constitution are two primary functions of government. These are both of utmost importance and must be considered at all points in the legislative process. Recently Vermont has a tendency to attempt to solve problems with impulsive measures that burden and bring risks to the people, do not offer real solutions, and infringe Constitutional rights of the people. I am dedicated to ensuring that these inalienable rights remain fully intact and are not eroded or compromised.
It is essential that our children can thrive in school. Our children must be fully supported and our schools must prioritize parental rights and create a space in which all of our differences in belief systems and values are respected. I will find out in the new year which committee I will be working on and I look forward to actively participating in this process.
Another top priority of mine while at the statehouse is to work my hardest to keep Vermont affordable. The current level of inflation and extra money spent on everyday expenses is crippling for many. I will oppose additional burdens considered by legislators that may arise this session. Tax schemes such as the Clean Heat Standard, the Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) with its unconstitutional and unelected board, and other financial stressors, regulations and pressures that place more burdens on Vermonters are injurious, harmful and unacceptable as stated in my oath. We are in a time of recovery and repair. The people of Vermont need support, security and protections. I am dedicated to helping provide opportunities that allow Vermonters to succeed.
It is my intention, to keep my constituents apprised of the events and legislation that arise this session in the statehouse. I will work hard to bring support and attention to our Caledonia 3 District and ensure that our voices are heard in the statehouse. I am available at all times to answer questions and hear your concerns and ideas. Please contact me at any point.
My goal is to protect and defend my constituents’ rights and to ensure that legislation is sound, worthy and beneficial to Vermonters and Vermont. I will work tirelessly to secure and uphold the rights of all Vermonters at all times as I try my hardest to work with my constituents and fellow legislators to solve problems and find solutions for the issues we face here in Vermont. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I looked forward to serving you at the statehouse.
