On Saturday, August 16, the State Committee will meet to discuss the future of the Vermont GOP, including proposed changes to our party rules. Some of the key agenda items include:
- Rule changes affecting how we elect statewide party officers—possibly moving from our traditional voting method toward something like ranked-choice voting.
- A proposed shift in authority that would give the State Chair control over nominating Presidential Electors—removing that role from local towns.
Then in September, the party reorganization begins at the town level, leading to a new State Committee and new leadership elected in November.
We’re not here to rubber-stamp decisions from the top. We’re here to represent you—and that starts with listening:
- What direction should the Vermont GOP be heading?
- Should towns and counties lose authorities to the State Chair?
- What’s working—and where are we falling short as a party?
- What changes would you like to see in the VTGOP?
Whether you’re a committee member, candidate, or just a freedom-loving Vermonter who wants a stronger, more accountable party—we want to hear from you.
