There is an article worth the read in today’s American Thinker, ‘a daily internet publication devoted to the thoughtful exploration of issues of importance to Americans’. And yes, let’s get this out of the way up front – ‘The Left’ characterizes American Thinker as being based on “extreme right-wing bias, promotion of conspiracy theories/pseudoscience, use of poor sources, and several failed fact checks.”
But to those of you who are rational and understand that confirmation bias affects us all, at least in the spirit of keeping your friends close and your enemies closer, I implore readers to consider this article. Even if you are on ‘The Left’ and offended by the precepts that you, more than those on ‘The Right’, may be contributing to our current malaise, please hold your nose, if only for a few minutes, and read this commentary.
And, if you consider yourselves unfairly characterized as being ‘A Right-winger’, a ‘deplorable’, and the myriad other (often offensive) characterizations out there, please take the time to consider this post as well. It will help you, at worst, to better understand and articulate the basis for your conservatism.
Winston Churchill once said that Free Market Capitalism is the ‘unequal sharing of blessings’. Aristotle once wrote: “The worst form of inequality is to make unequal things equal.” This commentary explains these tenants as well as any I’ve seen.
