According to Dr. Meryl Nass, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) knew about the myocarditis safety signal in February 2021, but “hid it until they got the vaccine authorized for 12-15-year-olds in May 2021,” and then “kept pushing” the vaccine on the highest-risk groups. Nass said the new evidence suggests the CDC and FDA may have violated the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act (PREP Act) when they withheld knowledge about myocarditis safety signals from the public and from fact sheets included with the COVID-19 vaccines. The new evidence includes warnings the FDA received from multiple sources, including the Israeli Ministry of Health at least as early as February 2021.

Top government officials violated the plaintiffs’ rights to free speech and peaceful assembly when they pressured Big Tech companies to crack down on people sharing their experience after receiving the COVID-19 vaccines, Brianne Dressen, the woman, and the other plaintiffs say. “Through threats, pressure, inducement, and coercion, Defendants now work in concert with social media companies to censor content the government deems ‘disinformation,’ ‘misinformation,’ and ‘malinformation’–a feat that the government could never lawfully accomplish alone,” the 124-page suit, filed in U.S. court in southern Texas, states. In addition to Biden, defendants include Rob Flaherty, a top adviser to Biden; White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre; the Department of Homeland Security; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

New York’s obsolete COVID vaccine passport app still costing taxpayers $200K per month – report | 23 May 2023 | The pandemic may be officially over, but New York is still paying an eye-raising fee of 200,000 per month to maintain a state vaccine passport that nobody uses. The Excelsior App was supposed to cost New York a mere 2.5 million when it debuted in the spring of 2021 as a way for New Yorkers to show their COVID-19 vaccinations as the state lifted pandemic restrictions on restaurants and live event venues. But costs since then have ballooned to 64 million, the Albany Times Union reported Sunday. Costs for the Excelsior app grew after state officials outsourced much of its development, which they say will allow the platform to serve purposes beyond showing vaccinations [?!?], though concrete plans for future applications have yet to be announced.
DeSantis hits Trump over ‘Warp Speed’ COVID-19 vaccine mandates | 22 May 2023 | Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took a swipe over the weekend at former President Donald Trump, playing off his accelerated push for a COVID-19 vaccine. Addressing the Florida Family Policy Council on Saturday, DeSantis asserted that vaccine mandates were an egregious violation of individual rights. “The way they weaponized these COVID vaxes was a massive incursion into our freedoms,” the governor said. “They wanted to deny people the right to put food on their table if they didn’t bend the knee and get a COVID shot that they may not have wanted and that many of them did not need.” DeSantis then slipped in a jab at his prospective rival for GOP supremacy. “We can never allow ‘Warp Speed’ to trump informed consent in this country ever again,” DeSantis said, referring to Trump’s “Operation Warp Speed” vaccine development push.
Ukraine cuts electricity to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant – official –The Zaporozhye facility has been connected to an emergency backup after the Dnieper power line was shut down, management have claimed | 22 May 2023 | Russia’s Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant, located near the front line with Ukraine, has been cut off from its external energy supply. According to a message posted on the facility’s official Telegram channel on Monday morning, the radiation level is “normal.” Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of Zaporozhye Region, stated that diesel emergency power standby generators have been brought online to maintain the plant’s operations after the Dnieper high-voltage power supply lines were cut off. According to Rogov, Ukrainian nuclear operator Energoatom is responsible for the shutdown. The Zaporozhye power plant, the largest nuclear facility in Europe…came under Russian control in February 2022. Zaporozhye Region became part of Russia following a referendum in September 2022.
Russian troops destroy Western-supplied vehicles in Belgorod Region –U.S. and Polish armored cars were among the militants’ documented losses | 24 May 2023 | Several American-made armored cars were among the seven vehicles documented to have been destroyed on Monday, when a unit of Ukrainian militants was defeated after trespassing into Russia’s border region of Belgorod. Photos and video taken by the Russian military in the aftermath of the battle showed several abandoned, damaged or destroyed vehicles used by the Ukrainian force. Two M1151A1 Hummvee armored cars can be seen stuck in what appears to be a bomb crater, showing combat damage. Another Hummvee, the lightly armored cargo version still in desert tan color, sat on the side of the road with its tires shot out. Two of the M1224 MaxxPro armored vehicles were apparently left behind, one near a treeline and another inside a warehouse. The Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle is made by the U.S. company Navistar Defense in cooperation with the Israeli Plasan Sasa.

Germany pours cold water on fighter jets for Ukraine | 21 May 2023 | Ukraine should not expect F-16 fighter jet deliveries from the West in the near future, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Sunday, while expressing support for a plan to train pilots to fly the advanced jets. Speaking on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan, Scholz said “what is connected with the training of pilots is a long-term project,” adding that the U.S. has not yet decided what will happen at the end of the program… Scholz stated, however, that there is no chance Germany will take part in F-16 deliveries to Ukraine. “First of all, everyone knows that we don’t even have such aircraft.”
New IRS whistleblower letter suggests DOJ interference in Hunter Biden probe dates back years | 23 May 2023 | An IRS agent working with federal prosecutors and investigators on the Hunter Biden tax probe is alleging the agency ignored his team’s warnings about years of improprieties by Justice Department officials supervising the case. The allegation appeared in a May 18 letter the agent sent to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel, and it was made public Monday evening as part of a whistleblower package his supervisor sent Congress and the Office of Special Counsel, the government’s official whistleblower protection agency. Last week, attorneys for an IRS supervisory special agent (SSA) informed Congress that the DOJ had removed their client and his entire team from the investigation in what they deemed an act of retaliation. The SSA came forward in late April, alleging that federal prosecutors had engaged in “preferential treatment and politics” to prevent charges from being filed against Hunter Biden, the son of President [sic] Joe Biden. The whistleblower further alleged that his entire team had been sidelined after he made protected disclosures.

In the first instance, which occurred in October, Biden spoke at Colorado’s Camp Hale, where he said, “Just imagine – and I mean this sincerely. I say this as a father of a man who won the Bronze Star, the Conspicuous Service Medal, and lost his life in Iraq.”

Shellyne Rodriguez, a Hunter College adjunct assistant professor of art, responded to a New York Post reporter who knocked on the door of her Bronx apartment Tuesday morning by holding a machete to his neck and allegedly threatening to “chop” the man up, according to a New York Post report Tuesday. “Get the f— away from my door, or I’m going to chop you up with this machete,” the professor reportedly shouted at the reporter, who was identified as Reuven Fenton.
Pistol Brace Owners Scramble to Block ATF Ban Set to Take Effect June 1 | 23 May 2023 | Gun rights advocates and the owners of pistol stabilizing braces are scrambling to stop a rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that will make possession of the brace a felony after May 31. On May 31, the ATF’s 120-day amnesty period for pistol brace owners will end. Pistol brace owners who don’t destroy, register, or surrender the braces to the government by the deadline will possess contraband and be subject to arrest, according to the ATF. “Our members are going to start going to jail,” Aidan Johnston, director of federal affairs for Gun Owners of America (GOA), told The Epoch Times. “Our members are extremely concerned.”

New BLM Rules on ‘Conservation Leases’ Will Fundamentally Transform Public Land Management | 19 May 2023 | The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is preparing to fundamentally reshape how public lands are managed without congressional approval. In March, the agency unveiled a sweeping proposal to establish a framework for “conservation leases” that places a newfound priority on preservation. The new Public Lands Rule presents a radical departure from the “multiple use mandate” Congress outlined for the agency in the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (FLPMA). FLPMA requires federal lands to be used in ways that “best meet the present and future needs of the people.” The proposed rules from the federal bureau, which has 245 million acres under its jurisdiction, jeopardize access to public lands for grazing and development. Under the new framework for conservation leasing, parcels of federal property could be leased out by third-party NGOs that cut off any other uses for decades. David McDonald, an attorney with the Mountain States Legal Foundation, called BLM’s new rules a “game changer” for how public lands are managed.
Native American Man Killed By Border Patrol Shortly After Calling Border Patrol on Trespassing Migrants | 21 May 2023 | Raymond Mattia, a member of the Tohono O’odham Nation, was shot and killed by border patrol agents at his reservation in Southern Arizona. According to KVOA, Raymond Mattia called U.S. Border Patrol agents after he discovered illegal immigrants were trespassing in his yard. A family member told KVOA Raymond “called to request for assistance because there were multiple illegal immigrants who had trespassed into his yard and he wanted assistance getting them out of his property.” According to the same family member who wished to not be identified, when Border patrol agents arrived to the scene Mattia exited his home and was shot dead shortly after.
Maryland teen rape suspect is illegal immigrant from El Salvador – ICE –Suspect has been in the U.S. illegally for 10 years, according to ICE | 20 May 2023 | The suspect who is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl and a woman on a Maryland hiking trail is in the U.S. illegally, according to officials. Jose Roberto Hernandez-Espinal, 20, was arrested for allegedly raping a woman and stealing jewelry at Burnt Mills East Special Park in Silver Spring on Tuesday. Officials told FOX 5 DC that Hernandez-Espinal is also suspected of raping a 15-year-old girl on the same trail last week. An ICE spokesperson told FOX 5 that Hernandez-Espinal is originally from El Salvador and illegally immigrated to the U.S. in May 2013.
