Tuesday, April 2, the Vermont State Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, following a months-long investigation, arrested Anton G. Lutz Jr., 29, who has no fixed address, for the following offenses:
- Sale of fentanyl
- Sale of cocaine
- Possession of cocaine
- Violating court-ordered conditions of release (x6)
VSP’s investigation determined that Lutz sold fentanyl and cocaine in the Brattleboro area during July 2023 and was in possession of cocaine at the time of his arrest in April 2024. The violations of court-ordered conditions of release stem from several dockets in the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division, that were active during the time in which he was distributing narcotics.
Lutz was ordered held on $5,000 bail and was cited to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Windham Criminal Division on April 3, at 12:30 PM.
At the Whiskey Den, woman kicks cop in groin – A St. Johnsbury woman with a history of arrests for assaulting police kicked a local cop in the groin and another in the shin, St. J police say.
March 30 at 9 PM, St. Johnsbury police were dispatched to the Whiskey Den as Emily Soskin, 42, was highly intoxicated and combative and refusing to leave despite being told multiple times. It was later learned that Soskin had lunged at the bar owner.
Both Ofc. George Johnson and Ofc. McKendrick Johnson tried to detain Soskin. She assaulted both officers first by kicking one in the groin and later the other in the shin. A later check of Soskins record showed prior arrests for assault on law enforcement.
She was charged with Disorderly Conduct and two counts of Assault on Law Enforcement.
Pride flag stolen – On 4 PM April 3, Vermont State Police received a call about a theft of a pride flag from a single family home at 52 Adams School Rd. in Grand Isle. The theft of the garden flags reportedly occurred the previous evening. It is unknown at this time who may have taken the flags.
This incident has been reported to the Office of the Vermont Attorney General – Bias Incident Coordinator. Anyone with information regarding this is urged to call the St. Albans Field Station at 802-524-5993.
Breaks into store with stolen van, steals vape pens – On April 3 and 5:10 AM, state troopers responded to a report of a commercial burglary alarm from the Simon’s Gas Station located at 2 Barber Street in St George. Store employees arrived on scene prior to troopers and discovered that the suspect had forced entry into the building through the front door with a grey 2002 Chevy Astro van, license plate KBH430.
Police say the suspect stole a large quantity of nicotine vape pens. The van was later determined to be stolen out of South Burlington, VT. Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the Vermont State Police-Williston Barracks at 802-878-7111.
Fugitive wanted in MA for coke dealing – Police went to Vertical Mile Road in Wheelock April 2 at about 6 PM in search of Dylan Brink (27) of Wheelock. Brink was located at a residence in the area shortly after and served with a No Stalking Order for an unrelated case. While speaking with Brink, Troopers informed him that he was wanted on a warrant out of Massachusetts for the charges of “Trafficking in Cocaine” and “Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A Drug.” Brink was arrested, cited, and then jailed to await extradition.
