Wilson: The killing of Vermont

by Rep. Charles Wilson

The current administration in Montpelier seems very casual saying Vermonters need to pay more! With what? In 2023 our state budget was over 8.5 billion! Now we are told there will be an increase in 2024 of 18.5 %. Plus by 2030, we are told we need 40,000 housing units! For whom? Democrats and Progressives—most drunk with power—are going along with the United Nations (UN) 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Global Governance. This is an authoritarian exercise of authority bringing irreparable damage to Vermont and an abuse of power. In the House and Senate as only the liberal agenda is brought to the floor, never anything Republican, patriotic or Christian. Any amendments from the right are easily defeated with glee. Every session is opened with “the Pledge of Allegiance” “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all,” From here, the supermajority proceeds to speak of democracy; no God, division and equity. (These are doctrines that supplement, aid and override both common and statute law that are designed to protect rights and are enforceable by substantiative law) In fact, this is all blatant discrimination as all are protected by the Constitution as we are created equal.

Equal, as in created equal, is regarding or affecting all in the same way, or impartial: Only God sets the limits. Narratives, not Constitutional Law, are being pushed. There is also a lack of accountability as a supermajority preaches an inclusive agenda they say has historically been excluded. Race, gender, sexuality, or ability, I don’t think any gender or race have room to condemn anyone. There has been widespread abuse throughout history.

White supremacy, Critical Race Theory, Black Lives Matter are social tyranny, racist, and a false narrative. Where is the voice of “We the People” instead of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Global Governance? This blocks, “Freedom of Speech” to create a false narrative that makes telling the truth very hard.

Going back a few years, a president stated, “We need to keep feeding the people manure long enough so they will not know what to think, or believe!” This is exactly why there are so many angry, confused, frustrated and fearful people. At the start of the 2023 legislative session, somehow all we were led to believe after the Covid spectacle that we had a “once in a lifetime” huge amount of money…after a two-year shut down? Also where did all our workers go?!

While preparing for the 2024 session and talking with my constituents the past several months, many are afraid, dismayed, and angry at the Vermont Government and legislators for putting undue tax burdens and regulations on taxpayers. As we speak many have no way to pay! Much of this is due to Vermont’s Government and legislators selling out our Constitutional Liberties for a long time until now, 2023 was unbearable. S.5 was passed, but just to be a study, yet the next day the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) started hiring for implementation. The PUC is made up of unelected bureaucrats, a typical ploy of the UN 2030 Agenda.

The Global Warming Solutions Act (GWSA) also hands power over to the Climate Council, a 23

member board of unelected opportunists, again a move from the UN 2030 Agenda. The Renewable Energy Standard, and proposed tax on “Gas guzzlers” is more taxation and socialism that will do nothing to lower the earth’s temperature and also the electric vehicles propaganda which is failing.

Remember there is no conclusion of the science over “Global Warming,” just division from profiteers and Globalists versus taxpayers. Again this stems from the UN 2030 Agenda, all unaffordable! Paid family and medical leave, and mental health services leads to more taxation and more bureaucracy to try and mend a broken society created by the UN 2030 Agenda. It would be better to close the borders and only allow those in who want to be citizens of the United States of America, as stated in our Constitution. In Swanton, Vermont, the illegal migrant situation is up 550% just in 2023. We need to evict all illegal aliens, hire more police, keep the laws on the books, and expel turnstile justices. People need to work for their living expenses and receive help only for short-term emergencies.

The First Amendment is for religious freedom, the free exercise thereof; freedom of speech, press, peaceably assembly, and petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The second Amendment is for a well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. (In other words, to infringe on our rights is to encroach upon in a way that violates law, or Constitutional rights of another protected from Government.)

The bottom line is, we don’t need the UN Global Agenda to tell us or force us how to live. People need to work and not rely on government support to fix everything. We certainly need Constitutional law, but not to the extent of socialism or tyranny.

We are taxed enough and taxes need to be significantly lowered by reducing Big Government. The main problem lies in education. We don’t have a “Climate Emergency”, we have an Education Emergency and common- sense problem. Public schools and many colleges have dumbed down students and the public for 60 years. I have heard it said and I agree that, “I want to eat steak, drive my gas fueled car, heat my home with fuel oil, wood or propane, travel at my leisure, and pay less taxes and do away with global propaganda from the United Nations that has no authority over our Constitutional Republic and law.”

A super majority in the Vermont Legislature does not mean they have done what is good for our citizens, in fact they have forgotten them…
