Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man they say stole nine shopping carts full of groceries from the Price Chopper/Market 32 store on Rte. 302 in Berlin between August and mid-September.
According to the Berlin Police Department, officers have been investigating nine separate theft reports between Aug. 1 and Sept. 12. Each time, the same male allegedly entered the store and left with a cart full of unpaid merchandise.
As seen in the stillshots from store surveillance video, the heists occurred during the early evening ‘rush.’ The shoplifter is seen wearing the same shirt and cap in all three photos. Police say he drove away in a dark SUV (see photo below).
Police did not provide an estimated value of the stolen groceries but said the case remains under active investigation.
On Oct. 1, police released images of the individual believed to be responsible and are asking anyone who recognizes him to contact investigators.
Members of the public can call Berlin Police directly during business hours at 802-223-4401.
