
A UVM Medical Center anesthesiologist was cited Monday, March 11 for lewd and lascivious acts with a female child.
On January 13, the Vermont State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at the Berlin Barracks began an investigation into allegations of unlawful sexual conduct by Christopher Manfred, 43, of Underhill. The investigation revealed that Manfred had engaged in lewd and lascivious acts with a female child who was known to him, state police said.
At 9 AM on March 11, Manfred surrendered himself at the Berlin Barracks. He was processed and cited to appear in Washington Superior Court Tuesday, March 12 at 12: 30 PM to answer to the charge of Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Child. Manfred was subsequently released.
Manfred’s UVMMC biographical information reads: “Christopher Manfred, MD is an anesthesiology and critical care medicine physician at the University of Vermont Medical Center, and assistant professor at the Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont.
“Dr. Manfred strives to provide the highest possible care, taking care of patients as he would want his own family members to be cared for. His clinical interests include general anesthesia, vascular surgical anesthesia, cardiac anesthesia, and trauma and critical care. He performs a variety of specialized procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography.”
