Two Massachusetts men busted in SoBu drug raid

Two men from Springfield, Massachusetts, have been charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation following a pre-dawn raid last week in South Burlington.

Burlington police say that at about 6:30 a.m. on June 13, the Burlington Police Department’s Emergency Response Unit, assisted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), executed a search warrant at 172 White Street. The operation marked the culmination of a long-term investigation by the Burlington Police Drug Unit, which included multiple controlled narcotics purchases.

During the search, authorities arrested Armando Robles, 31, and Orlando Heredia, 32, both of Springfield, MA. Investigators say evidence consistent with cocaine trafficking was discovered inside the residence.

Robles and Heredia were initially held at the Northwest State Correctional Facility on $25,000 bail. However, during their arraignment on June 16, both were released on $10,000 unsecured appearance bonds. As part of their release conditions, the men are prohibited from contacting each other and must stay at least 300 feet away from the White Street address.

Police are continuing to investigate and encourage the public to share any additional information. Tips can be provided directly to Detective Joseph Congdon at (802) 540-2220.

Residents can also submit anonymous tips related to drug activity by calling (802) 540-2420 or visiting the department’s Drug Tip Form.

“Reporting drug activity helps prevent further crime and keeps our communities safe,” the department said in a statement.
