A Danville man already facing sexual assault charges was arraigned Thursday on additional allegations involving child sexual abuse material and the use of a child in sexual performances, according to the Vermont State Police.
Police said Keith Olson, 37, of Danville, was arrested May 14 following a continuing investigation that began in April 2025.
The investigation was launched jointly by the Vermont State Police and the Vermont Department for Children and Families after a report of suspected sexual abuse of a child.
According to police, Olson initially was arrested in 2025 and charged with sexual assault. He was ordered held without bail, but was released from the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility on bail on Aug. 14, 2025.
State police said investigators continued to pursue the case after Olson’s release, executing multiple search warrants and developing probable cause for additional charges tied to conduct that allegedly occurred before the original arrest.
The new charges include possession of child sexual abuse material, use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting a recording of sexual conduct, and violation of conditions of release.
Police also alleged Olson violated court-ordered conditions following his release from custody last summer.
Olson was arraigned in Caledonia Criminal Court and ordered held on $25,000 bail. He was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Complex for lack of bail.
The case remains under investigation.
