A 29-year-old man from Winooski is facing charges following an incident in South Burlington on Friday, October 21.
Police say they observed three vehicles traveling together on I-89 south at an extremely high rate of speed at around 11:45 p.m.
The RADAR equipped in the police cruiser recorded their speed to be 109 miles-per-hour in a posted 55 miles-per-hour zone. A traffic stop was conducted on one of the three vehicles involved.
The driver was identified as Ryan Sears. Sears was released with a citation to appear in court to answer to the charge of negligent operation and excessive speed.
Police were unable to locate the other drivers. Republished from Newport Dispatch.
