A pedestrian who was struck and killed Tuesday evening on Shelburne Road has been identified by police.
According to an updated release from the Shelburne Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. Dec. 16 in the area of Shelburne Road and Lakeview Drive. Police say a pedestrian was struck by a southbound motor vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pedestrian has been identified as Mauricio M. Martinez, 52, of Schenectady, New York.
Police identified the vehicle operator as Jesse M. Roberts, 19, of Charlotte. Roberts was driving a blue 2012 Mazda 3 at the time of the crash.
The Shelburne Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Vermont State Police Crash Reconstruction Team, the Shelburne Fire Department, and Shelburne Rescue.
