Letters do not necessarily reflect the position of the Vermont Daily Chronicle or its staff
To the Editor:
Unity and loyalty are important for the success of any organization. This is certainly true for political parties. Party discipline is often cited in view of this need. So it is puzzling when humble low level party members are faithful in supporting statewide office holders who differ on many issues but then are forced to watch those same leaders openly oppose national leaders of their same party.
Why would this ever happen? What makes trusted party leaders abandon the aspirations of their own party members and the stated positions of their party? Enter the Uni-party! The Uni-party is all the people from both main parties who support the “fundamental transformation” of the USA into a socialist and Marxist nation. They are motivated by a true affinity for socialist dogma, and/or the thirst for power and/or simple monetary support. Even if they are not doctrinaire leftists they can be purchased and intimidated or blackmailed by leftists.
A quick way to identify Uni-party members in any guise is to hear their take on the 1/6/2021 events in DC. If they call this an “insurrection” you are listening to a Uni-Party person. The unarmed 400,000+ citizens of January 6 were voluntarily gathered to protest a highly defective election. The people were simply exercising their 1st Amendment right to “peaceably assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The Uni-party wants to discredit the patriots of that day because these are the people who can and are now exposing and correcting the corruption of America. After 100+ years of being misled there is a real chance that the citizens of the USA will make 2024 the high water mark of our enemies effort to replace our constitutional republic with a Communist state. Those involved need to double down and bring many others into this effort.
Another identifier of the Uni-party is blind allegiance to the narrative of “Climate Change” or global warming or whatever the latest designation happens to be. This agenda is based on one core lie- there is too much CO2 and humans are responsible for this. The 0.04% CO2 in the air is a trace amount that cannot possibly control temperature. But this lie is perpetrated relentlessly by the Uni-party as part of an effort to destroy the economies of the western world.
At times the left has seemed invincible in their project to infiltrate and dominate every institution in America. The recent election, however, gives many of us hope that the principles and values of Americanism can still be restored and strengthened!
This situation reminds me of George Washington and his recognition of the “Invisible Hand” that watched over our country. That is the Hand of God which has protected and rescued the USA many times! This Hand has protected President Trump from vicious lawfare and even assassination attempts. May this Providence continue to guide us and inspire us in the days and years to come!

An interesting double standard?
In light of the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans, where the assailant used a vehicle as a weapon, I wonder why there are no calls against car violence or political efforts to ban them.
Many people on the Left argue that guns are the cause of violence, suggesting that the weapon itself is responsible. However, why are drivers and vehicles not held to the same standard? After all, did not the vehicle play a crucial role in the deaths of innocent victims on the streets? Did it not enable the tragic outcome?
Further, very few unintentional gun-related deaths occur; sometimes, while cleaning, mistakes happen, or a gun that was thought to be empty is fired with fatality resulting. But by definition, car accidents tend to be…well, accidents. Tens of thousands of people each year across America die from car accidents, and millions more are injured, while guns need a disgruntled individual behind them.
According to the World Health Organization, 1.19 million people across the world die each year in car accidents, and millions more are injured—over four times the total of those who die from gunshot, whether by homicide or suicide.
Why is there not a widespread outcry to end car violence? Cars and fast travel are ingrained in the economy, and politicians on both sides rely on the said economy for taxation to fund their programs. Guns? Authorities have many reasons for desiring a population that cannot resist its ruler or protect itself from them. If people are less able to protect themselves from criminalviolence, they are more docile when it comes to doing what their only protector the government desires, perhaps to take a vaccination.
But it is safe to say the inconsistency will continue because the issue is not the guns but control. And the death in car accidents of a small percentage of the population is a tiny sacrifice to keep the economy they depend on going.
