To My Fellow Readers:
There’s lots of speculation who will get the democrat presidential nomination in 2028. Many speculate their candidates are weak but a lot can happen in the next 18 months
Mark Helprin has compiles a list which he reviews monthly after talking to several political pundits. The consistent top two have been Newsome and Shapiro in that order. Surprisingly in his top 8 are AOC and Mayor Pete. She’s number 5 on the list after Kamila and the Mayor. What people are telling him is that the Democrats are pushing for a generational change in their nominee and that AOC fits that role.
One candidate on the list which I think would be a good candidate is Rahm Emanuel. He’s working hard and doing his homework. He’s the only one developing position papers and has staked himself as center or just slightly left of center. He speaks well and has a good resume despite some issues when Mayor of Chicago. He’s learned a lot politically from Bill Clinton.
Anyway. It’s good to speculate and see how the Democrat field evolves.

To the Editor:
With much being said on the Save Act and whether or not we should have identification to vote, it’s funny with what the Democrats want you to have I.D. for.
Recently in Connecticut they just raised the bottle deposit from five cents to 10 cents so of course all of the undocumented bottles and cans started to come over the Connecticut border in droves. People from Western New York, Rhode Island and Massachusetts were coming to the Connecticut bottle and can redemption centers to get 10 cents for the bottles and cans that they only paid a nickel for.
To the rescue comes the Democrat controlled legislature passing a bottle and can cashing identification law. That’s right Governor Ned Lamont signed into law that in Connecticut you now have to show I.D. to cash in your bottles and cans.
Don’t they realize that law is racist as the black people who they say can’t get an I.D. or don’t have an I.D for voting and can’t vote won’t be able to cash in their bottles and cans. What about the homeless who have no I.D., that fill their stolen shopping carts with bottles and cans to cash in for a little extra drug money. Or the married women who have changed their names have to go thru all that unnecessary hassle to get the proper I.D to just cash in their bottles and cans.
Democrats, it only stands to reason if you need to prove who you are and where you’re from to cash in bottles and cans you need to prove who you are and where you’re from to vote.
